Focus ST COBB Accessport V3 Tuner 2013-2018 Installation

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Bill shows you how to install a COBB Accessport V3 on your 2013-2018 Focus ST.
Purchase Product Here:
www.cjponyparts.com/cobb-acce...
Usable with your 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 or 2018 Focus ST or 2014, 2015, 2016, or 2017 Fiesta ST, this flexible ECU upgrade solution unlocks power hidden within the vehicle by replacing conservative factory settings with more aggressive calibrations. The Accessport V3 can provide off-the-shelf calibrations for most bolt-on modifications and it should be the last engine management solution you will ever need. Along with all the new viewable upgrades from the V2, the V3 also has more speed, more memory, more map storage, more live gauges and more troubleshooting help.
Choose from multiple gauge setups which include your choice of one gauge to six gauges. Scroll through tons of different display parameters to view the specific information important to you. Information can be displayed in metric or imperial units. A shift light can be set to the desired RPM and is plenty bright that a separate shift light isn't needed. Monitor all the parameters you want to view and customize each layout for the street, strip or track.
Measure 0-60 MPH time, 1/4 mile time or horsepower with a built-in dynamometer. An included trouble code reader allows you to diagnose problems on the fly without the need to stop at a garage. The most important aspect of the Accessport V3 is the ability to install different maps and quickly adjust tuning elements such as idle, timing, launch control and flat-foot shifting. Create your own custom maps for your Accessport V3 using Accesstuner Race. A complete OEM tuning table provides access to optimize your mapping for any set of modifications. Data logging is included so you can view engine vitals which can alert you to any changes that need to be made to your tune. If self-tuning isn't your thing, visit a local tuner in the COBB Professional Tuning Network to have a custom tune created and loaded onto your Accessport V3. You don't even need to physically visit a tuner if you don't want to. Use easy data logging and map loading on your Accessport V3 to have an e-tuning expert remotely custom tune your vehicle.
Installation is extremely simple, fast and straight forward with easy-to-understand directions to guide you through setup. Initial setup matches the Accessport V3 to your vehicle modifications. The on/off switch allows you to turn off the programmer so the battery doesn't die. An automatic dimmer brightens and dims the screen depending on day or night.
Features:
- Customizable multi-gauge display
- Data logging
- Multiple tuning options including timing, shift light, launch control, etc.
- On/off switch
- Large, full color, 1/1000 high resolution screen
- Automatic dimmer
- Easy-to-use interface
- Interchangeable face plates
COBB tested a 2013 Focus ST with the following calibrations. Generally, the 87 and 91 octane calibrations run slightly lower boost, have a richer fuel curve and a less aggressive ignition advance map to help compensate for lower octane fuel blends and/or less than ideal atmospheric conditions. Maps designed for 93 octane are the most aggressive.

    Being a technician at a ford dealer I can say that we do have a way of proving whether it was tuned or not. Our scan tool can see mode 9 drive cycle data. If there isn’t a drive cycle completed in the history mode 9 data it means the customer flashed the ecu before bringing it in to us for warranty. Which we would then void

    Hey Bill, so even if you do 1 modification such as a cool air intake upgrade would it be necessary to get the Cobb access port and tune my focus to the stage one tune setting? And if looking to add inter cooler down the line would it be a good idea to go and invest in the cobb access port? I don't have access to a dyno and wasn't planning on dyno testing but would just tuning with the access port be fine?

  • @Zerogivengarage

    @Zerogivengarage

    10 жыл бұрын

    The beauty of the AP is that the tunes that come loaded are safe and effective for someone who may not have access to a dyno or custom tune. As long as your use a tune that is designed for the modifications you have you are good to go. You do not need a tune to run a cold air intake or a FMIC for that matter but both parts will work better with a proper tune.

    I have a question regarding the accessport ap3 I just purchased for my focus st. I just recently had a muffler and resonator delete on the car and now it's throwing a "lean" code. A lot of guys had this problem and with it being the rear o2 sensor. The rest of the car is completely stock for now. I was just wondering if the accessport can permanently get rid of this code or just shut the o2 sensor off? Now with that being said will I have any issue of passing emissions at all? On the 2013 Focus St, you have to open that little panel on the left to access the OBD 2 to be able to drive with the tuner plugged in. What did you do about that panel hanging there or can you flip around the OBD port? I under stand that you have to tuck the wires in the dash but what did you do about the plug?

  • @Zerogivengarage

    @Zerogivengarage

    I flipped the cover down under the dash. It still covers part of the dead pedal but is mostly out of the way. The OBDII port can be removed from that opening and hidden under the dash if you wanted to.

  • @Zerogivengarage

    @Zerogivengarage

    10 жыл бұрын

    There will be a dyno video answering that question coming soon but the simple answer is yes but they may not be optimal. We tried the stage 3 file with just a cold air intake and an exhaust on the dyno and saw nice gains over the stage 1 and stage 2. The Stage 3 will make more boost though so it is really better of being used with an intercooler and downpipe as it is designed to do.

    Run whatever stage you want. Aslong as you match the octane rating, you're fine. You might want to monitor your charge temps. But you wont see any damage done with a pre-canned stage 3 cobb tune without an intercooler.

    The tuner will work but the none of the preloaded tunes will work with 98 octane. You would need to find a custom tuner that can make a map for the accessport.

    look into equivalent octane rating between us/europe/etc. you're not using actual 98 octane.

    The US and UK use a different formula for measuring octane. You will have to do the conversion. 95UK is about 90.7 in the US, 98UK is 93.5US etc.

    Hey Bill - does the Access Port recognise 98 octane or only 93 octane or below? I run my Focus ST on 98 octane here in Australia.

    warriormonx Cobb offers tunes for other octanes but the USDM tunes included in the AP are only up to 93 octane. Does Australia use the RON octane rating? if they do then 98 RON is the same as US 93 octane

  • @warriormonx

    Hi Bill - yes, we use the RON octane rating - so this all now makes sense, cheers! If I were to pick up the Access Port and run it on my stock ST, would you think that I would be seeing the throttle response / HP / torque increases to make the purchase worthwhile? Or would I need to look at other mods?

  • @Zerogivengarage

    warriormonx The AP alone made our ST really wake up. It picked up some HP and TQE and the over all response was much better.

    Great - thanks Bill. Actually found the Cobb AP datasheets with the typical stage 1 93 octane dyno performance gains - matching these with improved response times will be very impressive. Might grab me an AP when I am next in US for work :) One final question - Ford factory warranty; what is Ford's official stance on use of devices such as AP?

  • @cobbtuning

    When the Accessport is properly uninstalled using the Uninstall option from the main menu, the ECU is reverted exactly back to stock. In our experience, the dealership is not able to tell if the ECU has been flashed. However, with that said, the AP is not designed to go around any kind of warranty coverage and there may be diagnostics at a much higher level we are unaware of. At the end of the day, it really comes down to how your local dealer handles modifications to the car: some don't mind a few mods and others don't like any. Kyle@COBB
