Custom tunes are great, and totally necessary if you have different combinations of aftermarket parts. But with my car being stock, knowing it has more to give..this is a great option that isn't risky to run

The problem you often run into is that without datalogging and analysis you are assuming and hoping that all is as it should be. And if you are not well versed in what to watch out for and listen for you can run into costly issues.
Crazy how underrated Cameron is

We couldn't have explained this any better ourselves! Great information throughout. We're glad you had a good experience with the tune!
I feel like a fully custom tune is always better, it is tailored to your specific car and gas that you frequently use, I had a stratified OTS tune and it wasn’t the worst, but when I switched to a JST 93/e30 tune the driveability is a lot better as well as there’s not as many negative ignition corrections. Mountune still does good stuff though their customer support isn’t the best
Just got my RS a few weeks ago and I’m so glad I came across your channel. Super great stuff, bro!
Sooo glad you got it from max super cool of you to shout him out! 💯 keep up the good work
Cam read my Mountune review! 👍 Some thoughts on Mountune Calibration vs a custom E-Tune: I had a positive experience with the Mountune calibration but I noticed that my charge temps were almost the same as ambient temp even with an aftermarket intercooler (Focus ST) After driving around with the Mountune calibration, I bought an E-Tune from Stratified. Now, charge temps are MUCH lower than ambient. I feel like the Mountune calibration, since it doesn't take into account the individual bolt-on mods you've done to your vehicle, is basically a much better, more reliable version of the COBB OTS tune. The custom e-tune takes into account all your bolt-ons, sparkplug gap, etc, and gives you some more flexibility with regard to what your goals are with the vehicle. It's not really an argument against what Cam is saying in this video, it's just that an e-tune will always be more custom tailored to your vehicle, whereas the Mountune calibration can be applied to any ST/RS.

Thanks for making this video! Exactly what I was looking for. Just bought one for my RS lol
Only video I could find reviewing mountune’s stock calibration, gonna go for it. Thanks bro, subbed.
You should have 100k+ views dude your content is QUALITY. Thanks for uploading this, it'll help me out alot soon
You've helped me when I had my focus ST, and I drive a 10th gen Si now. Planning on switching to the RS soon so your vids have been super helpful with mods. Appreciate you dude!

I definitely love the tune too. Thanks for reading my comment that I left on the Mountune site.
I bought a 2016 RS recently with accessport/mountune from previous owner. Car was well kept but i couldn't access LC through vehicle settings. This video helped (LC being hidden in 2nd slot mountune). Thanks for the video!
Here’s my thoughts. A tune from Alan (Edge Auto) costs $300. Yes it’s $200 more than this but you get a fully custom tune to your vehicle. Their drivability is going to cater to what your preference is and should give you even more power. I think I’d rather go that route than go with a generic tune

I've been saving up for an accessport for a while now and damn near shit myself when you said you were able to get a used one, shit myself even more when you mentioned RST and that they were based in NH. Looked em up and they're a 15 minute drive from my house, good lookin out cameron!!!

good vid! pretty much the same as ST tuning wise but RS a whole beast
Ayy hes back 🤪
Nice one going to muntune to get mine done ✔️ 😊thanks a lot
After having a fully custom e-tune done and having flash tunes on both my fiesta and focust st, ill choose a custom e-tune everytime. WAY more dialed in then an y flash tune ive ever used.
I'm sure you may know this. The exaust sound is piped in through the speakers, which is easily unplugged in the hatch by the sub woofer. I got a AWE track edition exaust so I unplugged mine.
With the B1 tune from Mountune, you should feel a significant power boost right at 4k rpm. I don't why, it just does. The B1 tune takes the turbo boost from 23 psi to 25+ psi. On a stock factory tune, the RS is designed to only use 16 psi boost in 1st - 3rd gear. 4th - 6th opens up the "overboost" for 20 seconds. The mountune b1 tune gets rid of that Ford 16psi only, and you should have 25+ psi boost in all gears. Cheapest power upgrade for the money. 375hp, 395 ft lb.

How did you like it. And was it reliable or did you have any issues
With the start taking a little longer, just open and close the door when you turn the ignition on and wait the 15. It does something with the computer, but it stops the long start :)
Now it’s time for an E30 tune.
It’s will enough for focus st if I don’t want more the stage 2? I have 76mm exhaust,moutune intercooler,moutune bov,cpe stage 2 rear mount,mountune intake,mountune symp delete
Cam tip. If you are in track mode just push in clutch put in 1st gear and rev engine should engage launch control.

I’d like to see Parker have full bolt on and Cameron with full bolt ons and see who really is top dog. I feel like my st is as fast or a little faster than a tuned Rs. But I’d love to see it. Great vid!

Really wish they offered this for the ecoboost mustang! I was ready to buy it right now but they don't :(
How does adding a tune effect the factory drive modes?
We're about to release some tuning options that dont require the price tag of an Accesport (the hardware is even cheaper than a used one, and can be used on multiple cars without any "marrying")!
Mine felt like it took longer to get into boost after my cobb tune
Man when I watch these I really wish I still had my ST. Fell asleep driving and crashed into a fence a year ago 😢

Жыл бұрын
@@Darylrb1983 ya no airbags, scratches bumps or nothing. Front end grill/ bumper got slight damage but to go str8 the wheel was at half turn. State Farm totaled it.
The thing with the Ford stuff is that the factory tune has Overboost which only kicks in at full throttle. From 0 to 99% throttle, you're never going to get full power. Any tune that alters that is going to make the cars feel a lot more punchy even before they alter the actual power levels.
Do you get any whp gains?
Off topic, but has anyone experienced left knee pain while driving manual? Just recently started and am searching for remedies because it really takes away from the whole experience
How much HP did that add?
if you have a fiesta st its necessary to go hybrid or big turbo stock turbo is just too small to have fun on anything but a twisty road i recommend going whoosh hybrid kept most of the low end but car actually made power in the top end well worth the money
@symph6095
Жыл бұрын
idk e30 on stock turbo is pretty fun, blows my tires off until i get a diff. big turbo seems to lose a lot of the low end torque so id agree and say hybrid probably the best option with upgraded fuel pump

I loved my Fiesta st when it had the ollllld x37. That turbo was on there for 70k miles without any issues. Ugh. I should do it for my wife's car
Yo I just picked up a 16 RS, let me know if you wanna sell that accessport Sir.
Let us know when you'd like to step up to custom tuning. We can definitely get you dialed in!
YOU CAN UNPLUG THE TUNER AFTER ITS DONE? I WAS TOLD THIS WILL BRICK YOUR SHIT? one more question that i guess anyone can answer since I haven't gotten a clear answer. How do tunes affect extended warranties/service contracts? Do they void them out???
Idk anyone who uses a AP V3 to tune and doesn’t have it plugged in constantly to monitor parameters. Might as well just save money and get a V2 if you’re going to do that.
I would be very careful, a lot of people who ran ots tunes ran into big issues with their RS. Also, Randy used to work mountune and was their tuning guru. I wouldn’t be surprised if the reviews you were reading were from people who were tuned by Randy before he left and started his own company.

If a shop can only get 400 out of a 5-600hp setup then you are better off with an E-Tune.
