Focus Rs Mk2 turbo chatter Sabre stage 4 Pulsar G30-660 KMS Thunderstorm

Few short clips of my mk2 RS running a Airtec tubular manifold pulsar G30-660 turbo smart waste gate with KMS thunderstorm cat back non res and kms sports cat tuned by sabre Tunning power made was 545 bhp.

    It’s just the stock housing with a quantum 340 pump there’s was a bit of tinkering but seems to work well it’s on its limits though now at being safe

    Sounds mental. Shoudl try to grt a video from above the exhaust. Also how is that 340lph pump keeping up? Is it just in thr standard housing?

    What else do u need bar the turbosmart wastegate to generate that noise on gear changes/let off? Sounds so nice mate

    1 bar of boost a 3300 rpm and 1.8 bar at 4000 rpm thanks

    I have been in contact with Sabre tuning about this setup, may I ask what was the cost? is this a pulsar g30? also did you need any custom parts such as oil/water lines etc currently I have a forged setup running Sabre's stage 3 map @440hp

    If you go on palsar turbos uk it’s a g30-660 with a t3 72ar exhaust housing I used the mamber st/rs line kit you can buy

    @@Lee_RS85thanks for the heads up on the oil/water lines. One tuner quoted me 15k to go to 500hp😮. Sabre/Leighton/Paul were fantastic when they upgraded me to its present level. Again, may I ask you what the cost was for the work and parts to be completed. I can sell some of my parts to offset the cost (hybrid,injectors, downpipe) but I must admit yours does sound immense, goes like a stabbed rat! I also noted from Sabre’s site Leighton capped the torque to help the clutch.

    ⁠​⁠@@mattbater5319no problem I found sabre extremely helpful very knowledgeable and done a brilliant job on the mapping the turbo manifold down pipe waste gate etc is around £2000 the injectors were 750’s and I was on a standard rs clutch and fly wheel which was no trouble

    @@Lee_RS85 cant think what wastegate mine is. Its deffo turbosmart and hypergate think its a 45. But yours chatters so much mine does bugger all. Wonder if its the turbo making a big difference.

    @@reece52981The wastegate has nothing to do with flutter or chatter. The main factor for sound comes down to your intake pipe. Different materials, thicknesses, lengths and bends play a factor in sound. For example - a short stainless steel intake pipe will sound considerably different than a rubber or silicone long intake pipe with a bend(s) You also have to have no BOV or at least a BOV with a stiffer spring. By removing your BOV the compressed air in the charge system now has no where to go when off throttle so the compressed air vents to atmosphere via the compressor housing and out your intake pipe and air filter. This is where the difference in intake pipe setups come into play for flutter/chatter. Hope this helps.
