Okay, c'mon. Admit it. We're all worried about costs and fuel economy, but hasn't secretly dreamed of cruising the big road in a truck like the W900? I mean, if you hit lit the lottery, what kind of truck would be sitting in your driveway?
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the W900 model, Kenworth has done up a special edition called the Icon 900. It's a full dresser with all the toys and a very attractive graphics package that just retro enough to rekindle the good times of trucking's hay days.
The ICON 900 can be ordered in any color and comes standard with many chrome and stainless steel accessories, starting with a chrome hood badge that is a one-of-a-kind and only available on this model. Other distinguishing features include stainless steel fender guards, upgraded headlights, headlamp covers, under door panels and sleeper panels, grille closeout panel, plus a large sun visor. It's available with Cummins engines up to a 600-hp engine, and 72- or 86-in. sleepers.
Inside, a custom dash plate shows the production number. Also included are high back leather seats with special embroidering and a sofa bed upgraded to leather to match the seats.
In short, it's a peach.
Equipment Editor Jim Park got a ride in the Icon 900 at an editor ride-and-drive event help in Chillicothe, Ohio, the home of one of Kenworth's manufacturing facilities, and the plant where the W900 models are built.

icon 900 are also available as gliders. I've seen them having Detroit 12.7 and cat 6nz.

Absolutely beautiful.. Well in your description it says something about hitting the lottery,well if I hit the lottery this would be my daily driver and I would swap that Detroit with a cat.

Beautiful truck though,it makes you get that truck feeling back in your veins.The trucks now,even though they are more fuel efficient,lack that truck feeling they are like big cars or pickups,they get no respect with those sloping hoods and tiny grills from four wheelers.The Pete 379,389,kenworth W900 those have a commanding presence when they pull up with their long hoods and bold grills.

Flow In The Dark Im all for buying these trucks to store them for future generations, but not for using them to pull loads on the highway also for future generations lol. Horrible aerodynamics mean they need half the engines torque to beat the drag. Wastefulness is cool sometimes but never good.

What awesome truck!! I wish I was a real truck driver with this truck! My heart would just stop it something ever happen to it! I'm just a want to be on a video game!! I play American Truck Simulator and I drive the 900 in the game! Live in a high rise over a freeway truck watching every day!! But do is better than watching!!!

Gorgeous Truck! They should have offered a Detroit Diesel Engine option with the ICON also. Nothing better than a W900 with a big Detroit under the hood.

+Bama MoonDog Detroit is owned by Daimler, a competitor of Paccar. Paccar will rather sell their own engines.
Beautiful rig. It's a hard choice for me to pick either the W900 or the Pete 389.

If KW would offer the Detroit DD16, that's what I would get! Maybe get a glider if still able to and stick one in myself. The W9 is NOT going away. Anyone says this... they are FOOLS!!

I love trucks like these. the w900 has always been my favorite. just love the classic style and a truck that looks and drives like a truck. I love a truck with a real hood and chrome compared to these plastic junk trucks out here

beautiful truck. But I would never own one unless it had a 12.7 or cat glider set up. These new engines are killing owner ops with shop bills. dpf filters 8K regen service 3k more sensors then one can count. then you have the engine itself for another 35k inframe bill. vs a glider with a 12.7 Detroit. no egr. clean turbo.

not a big fan of the way the single windshield looks. I hate the way the wipers sit on top of each other. I know this is nit picky but I also have never been a fan of those doors! I like the interior but keep the body totally classic!

This is the same W900 just with chrome on it. I do not see anything special about it. Now the 379 X model and the 379 legacy are special trucks. Come on Paccar , Do something with the W900 that makes it stand apart.....

yungbluud444. Catepillar engines the best. Cummings had the best Jakes. Detroits (screamin jimmys) were extremily noisy & gutless in power. . . .my experiances. I know absolutley nothing about PACCAR engines. Never been around them. To bad CAT quite the scene.
Thanks must be to GOD, that finally they will stop making that junk, 30 years tech old stuff that they called classic. TH

These trucks are for those who enjoy driving, this is not a job for me it's a life style, and I'll be in a truck that I not only enjoy driving but is comfort. I have driven just about every damn cookie cutter truck out there and nothing rides like a W900. Add air ride to the front and it just floats down the road. Also these garbage trucks they pump out for the big fleets are through away trucks. I laugh all the time watching guys try and come out to a lay down yard with there plastic trucks. There will always be a market for real trucks. wheelbase has a purpose besides aesthetics. keep your door swinging job and let the men be men, we have a Wall to build and there will be hoods delivering the goods.
