The ProAcs had the best combination of qualities followed by the B&W a little way behind here for me are the Focals. The better the electronics the better the ProAcs sing.

Proac just shines. Very nice.

The clarity with Focal of instruments and voice wins, for me.

ProAc.. great at all freqiencies..

Jestem od kilkunastu lat posiadaczem kolumn ProAc. Model D2R jest naprawdę świetny. Również Bowes & Wilkins 805 pięknie grają. Znam je doskonale. Obecnie mam D Forty R a miałem D48R. Moim zdaniem podstawkowe D2R są wybitne, ale wymagają dużo przestrzeni, bardzo stabilnych podstawek (standów wypełnionych piaskiem) oraz podłączenia kablami głośnikowymi w układzie single be wire. Ten model kolumn podstawkowych swoją przestrzenią i dynamiką nie ustępuje wcale wielu zestawom kolumn podłogowych.

Proac without a doubt! 😋

The levels of the recordings are differet, making the evaluation harder. BW are the livelier ones. The Focals areetye most neutral. The Proacs are between, not too colored, not too cold.

Proac for sure.

Male voice grows in quality as the test progresses and so does the rest of the sound. Proac takes it.

1. Focal: least expensive, dynamic, balanced 2. B&W: most expensive, warm, comfortable for ears 3. Proac: flat

Recently i heard bw 800 series floorstanding in treated room with mc intocsh preamp and mc intosch amp , they are really balanced , spark but not fatigue ..

For the value of 1,200 Euros, this Marantz PM-8006 is an excellent value for money. Though I'd still rather spend 2,500 Euros on the Marantz Model 30.

the McIntosh is a dream.

Clearly can hear it's thin wall cabinets.

I Thought b&w were great but these PROACS ARE AMAZING with MARANTZ ❤❤

Out of the 3 spks, i like Proac best. The B&W seems least transparent. The Focal has good clarity but lacks a bit of bass. And the Mac is better than the marantz of cos. Cleaner, richer, bigger soundstage & more transparent. Maybe u can compare the latest B&W 705 S3 with the proac. When i compared my cm6 S2 with 805 D2 i also found the 805d2 less transparent & open & smaller soundstage. The 805D3 is a different animal altogether.

MA7000, my dream integrated amp in the last 15 years ... but then i woke up and got the Accuphase E-450 along with DAC-50 and still chasing the AD-50 for a "complete-set" Never again will my wallet be emptied by a pair of branded speakers - DIY for life - or as long as my hearing is intact

Are these speakers and the Marantz burned in? How many hours do they and the cables have on them please?

I just came back to this test after my first comments 2 months ago. My opinion on the speakers are very much comnfirmed. By listening again, its just as clear that the Focal trail the B&W with the Proac putting clear distance to the B&W the Focals are out of their depth when matched against the Proacs. It is interesting and surprising that the Marantz runs the much more expensive Mackintosh so close.

Interesting insight and agree on the Proacs. I imagine the McIntosh might have its hands full dealing with still the best integrated amp ever made (PM-11S2), as demo's on my system here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/k6hs0aivY9fceqQ.html

most people here preferred the proac , for me the b&w is weightier and more articulate , the proac sounded lean to me .

The Proac are deeper reaching but somehow sound imbalanced sucked out in the upper bass lower mids. Focal for me in this lot. Thanks.

How do you connect your laptop to the PM8006. I realize it doesn't have digital inputs so would like to know how you did it!

Nie można bezpośrednio podłączyć laptopa cyfrowo przez USB do analogowego wzmacniacza. Robi się to poprzez przetwornik cyfrowo analogowy (widać go na zdjęciach) z gniazdem USB Audio a z niego analogowymi kablami (RCA lub XLR) przesyła się sygnał do wzmacniacza. Polecam użycie dobrego przetwornika i kabla USB. Oba te elementy odgrywają zasadniczą rolę przy odtwarzaniu muzyki z laptopa. Odtwarzanie muzyki z laptopa nie jest zbyt wygodne dlatego na dalszym rozwoju systemu audio polecam zakup dobrego odtwarzacza sieciowego.

1 Proac, 2 B&W, 3 Focal. Solamente il suono delle Proac è ben riprodotto dalle mie AR M1, gli altri abbinamenti sono molto inferiori. Ciao da Roma.

1 - B&W nitidez e detalhamento, bom grave 2 - Focal médios mais ricos 3 - Proac agudos estreitos e médios mais finos, porém bons graves e definição Marantz - aqui a prova de que sempre buscaram ter uma sonoridade/assinatura próxima dos Mcintosh

Ничего не понравилось.Mcintosh грязный звук.Marantz слишком сочно,надо поменять проходные конденсаторы Elna silmic,а лучше поменять усилитель.Голос самый плохой у Proac,надо фильтр переделать,убрать под,ем верхней середины и высоких частот,тогда будет более правильно, и то с фазоинвертором все плохо

I partner my Marantz with a pair of Wharfdale Evo 4.2 . Excellent combo in my opinion.

You can clearly hear what all B&W speakers suffer from: notes last way too long. You hear the speaker, not the music.

Disagree with all the Proac fans, higher price tag, and longer reputation does not always mean better. In critical listening mode, the B&W ranks first is terms of bass definition, and instrument separation, vocals is on par with Focal. Proac sounds thinner, it lacks the meat and the bass dry (it dissipates in the air). In my listening with Sennheiser earphone, first B&W, second Focal, and Proac third. 4 thumbs up to the person who recorded this, thank YOU. Great job!!!

ProAc for me please

This type of music is not great for testing the quality of speakers. Play some dynamic fusion jazz music with fast bass and guitars.

Sorry but terrible music/song selection for comparisons. You really need to change your demo music bro. Try Bruce Springsteins "Street of Philadelphia". It has great bass, timing and rhythm, speed and authority of bass and vocal.
