@@sundae4033 Well MM has not one original concept in it that LBP hasn't already done and BOTW took Shadow of the Colossus' stamina meter climbing mechanics visual ruin aesthetic, the minimalistic world design, Collosal Beasts that are actual indoor temples, many designs like the collosal sandworm you fight on a horse, and many of the Colossi in the game. Nintendo flipped the Divine Beast story element in SOTC you have to fight the divine beast in order to free dormant in BOTW you have to free the Divine Beast to contain Ganon. They also used "Journey's" journey to the huge landmark you can see at the beginning of the game.

I can see the similarities in spirit but... Well the proof is in the pudding after all. My concern is the lack of hiding in the ink- i mean foam. That's one of the biggest things about splatoon swimming and hiding in the ink. Mind I guess the foam obscures vision and acts like a barrier?... Dont smoke bombs and flash bombs do something like that?

I actually noticed that they add flat shadows for the characters inscured by foam so you can see where everyone is at all times. If you need to do that to make your game playable it shouldnt be a game.

Played the launch and no, only teammates have outlines, enemies have outlines on close range and team leaders at the end of the match are marked

foamstars looks like the biggest eyesore

Foamstars just looks all over the place and too hard to follow with all the visual clutter, whilst Splatoon looks clear and concise, balancing the environment with the ink to give a seamless gameplay experience that is easy and fun to follow.

I don’t own a PlayStation but oh my god it looks s fun I’m happy PlayStation players will get to enjoy the somewhat worse quality splatoon with a little bit of overwatch sprinkled on top, I’d definitely try it if I had a PlayStation

I played the beta last weekend and honestly the game slaps it's sooooooooooo much fun I'm definitely gonna get the full game

I couldn't tell the difference till put the name on the screen

Still the same given the exception of the music, the only difference is the objective and the fact that these are humans not marine life, the equipment, weapons, specials and sub specials including mechanics are the literal same. (Except for the super jump because of course they're humans) the only thing that is not clear is if there is idols or not, foamstars has much to give out including if there is campaign or not. For now it's the splatoon same with very few differences, being the only critical difference is that it is team deathmatch not something similar to turf war.

i agree with this, but they also have tentamissiles, inkstrike, killer wail, and seemingly bubbler and bubble blower?? like some of these are fair bc homing abilities and shielding abilities are normal for shooters but you’d think they’d at least TRY to make it look a bit different from the ones from splatoon, but they all look so similar. those on top of the direct use of splatoons main gimmick (covering the ground in your colour) doesn’t really do it well yk? this is coming from someone who’s played plenty of shooters outside splatoon

Wait so an inkstrike is killstreak where projectiles rain down on enemies?! How ORiginal!.. I mean sure Foamstars is iterative, that's obvious, but I don't see all this energy for Mario Maker copying LBP, where were y'all when that game came out? With all that said, the game has brought different ideas to the concept, the ability to use foam to build walls for defense, or platforms for height advantage, use of pet companions in multiplayer, turning your oppent into a buble you have to pop with melee or traversal attacks...
