    I like how you also "Exercise" the gaskets on machines not often used. That is an important tip to heat things up so you don't find mystery puddles. Also, I'd be surprised if GCIT - Pete doesn't give you a Sunday lecture on driving over and spraying baby grass too soon. I believe he preaches 3 mows before first application. I'm a little jealous I only have a 10ft boom sprayer.😅

    That's an excellent mix for both dandelions and clover. I'm not too sure what it will do to the new seeded areas though, just depends on how mature the new grass is. I'm doing some spraying and praying on a Sunday down here in Florida too, always a good time!

First, however, I'm going to go spray my lawn to kill clover and dandelions to keep your comment section mortified 😃 I live in NY, so I have to push back on the eco-keyboard nannies using what few methods that are still legal in my state...

    One suggestion I would make is you need to be more cautious. You’re wearing long pants and long sleeves (all good) but you should be wearing gloves and a mask. You DO NOT want to get any of those chemicals on you. It’s nothing but bad for you. Speaking from experience, as careful as you try to be, somehow you still get the crap on you. Anyway, nice video. One other question: are you using an app to determine the travel speed in relation to how much product is being put down? Hopefully they make it easier to figure that out…

    Tim have you ever thought about returning some your land to native grass and flowers? That’s what I am trying to do and am working with the USDA on starting a small plot for native flowers for pollinators. Next year we are going to try a larger plot for native flowers if the small plot woks. I am hoping to do a large plot for native grass in about three years. Native flower and grass seed is fairly expensive so that’s why I am collaborating with the USDA. I have been prepping the land with my 1025r.

    I bought a 1025R last fall. The other week I bought a 3 pt sprayer. The directions on the chemical says to spray at 30 psi at 6 mph. Is there some kind of chart out there that would tell me at what rpm's in high range would be 6 mph? Also, My sprayer came with a long pump wire with alligator clips to clip to my battery all the way in the front. I would like to put some kind of accessory plug in the back of the 1025R. How are you connecting the elec cord from your attachments to your tractor? Thanks, Russ

  • @TractorTimewithTim

    @TractorTimewithTim

    26 күн бұрын

    I have PTO pump. But for electric, go all the way to the battery. It is hard to go 6mph in your yard. Low range, wide open is roughly 4mph. Even that is hard to do when obstacles abound. You may need different tips which will spray a smaller amount of solution, or blend less chemical into your water. There is a chart which can help. Search ‘Teejet spray tip size chart’ the color of your tip should indicate which one it is.

    I have 1023E and doubt it could lift that tank full of liquid. Maybe, but it seems it would struggle. I made a foam marker for my smaller spray boom with a gas can and an electric air pump. I put a tubeless air fitting out the top of the tank. It has a tube that goes to the bottom. Fill with a mix of dish soap and water. The electric pump pumps air to the bottom of the tank. The bubbles come out the top of the tank and out to the nozzles at the ends of the boom. Works great.

    Hey Tim, currently talking with the company on a unit but had a question on the hand sprayer that you may be able to answer :-). Are there different nozzles avail that can be swapped out for fine mist versus more of of stream for more reach (think along the lines of trying to shoot pesticide on the eves of a 2nd story house)? Thank you!

  • @TractorTimewithTim

    The end of the nozzle can be adjusted for different ‘spread’. So, you can adjust from ‘stream’ to ‘mist’. If I remember right, it is a circular pattern when misting.
