Hey! This is good! Are going to make part 6? I'm searching to make further NPC dialogue: combat lines, idle lines, environment lines, randomized timed lines and all sorts of dialogue events, like the guy running at you at certain conditions or by passing through certain places

First of all, thanks! As for part 6 I was debating if I should just do a quest tutorial or expand upon a previous video I made such as adding custom textures to a custom weapon but I might have to expand on the dialouge for part 6. I can link you to a video that shows you how to make condition based dialouge like for example, running through an area and someone runs up to you and initates dialouge automatically and by messing around, which I HIGHLY recommend, you could probably figure out how to make it so that the NPC might play different animations or maybe behave differently if a certain condition is passed! There is a good bit of work with triggers and scripting which I haven't gone over in a tutorial yet so I'm not sure if I want to straight away jump into that and instead build my way up so when it comes to it, the audience finds it A LOT easier to follow along and won't get discouraged. kzread.info/dash/bejne/mqmG1tdrkdS5h7g.html&ab_channel=Seddon4494 I recommend watching that however sometimes he does skim over things but he was basically the only resource that was around when I was learning the GECK. He also have I think about 99 tutorials in total covering basically EVERYTHING you can think of except custom models and stuff like that (Which I hope to cover soon in an "advanced" tutorial series!)

Honestly just messing around with the G.E.C.K and using some of seddon4494's GECK tutorials. They are quite a bit dated now and don't go through things as depth however it was a great resource and alot of the things I have covered here he also has on his channel. There's around 100 tutorials on there but can be hard to follow at time which is what my tutorial series is aiming to improve!

I have a character and i have it set so you're able to give him jet in the dialogue options, and once you give him jet he rewards you with 50 caps. however, when i talk to him again, the same dialogue options appear and he doesn't acknowledge that you've already given him jet. does anyone know or have a link/guide on how to make it so once you complete a task for an npc, next time you talk to them the dialogue options are different with them acknowledging the task you did for them? thanks for anyone that can show me how to do this. i'm sure this is really simple, i'm just not seeing how to do it and i've looked through youtube tutorials and googled but came up with nothing so far. nothing seems to be on this specific topic.

Im assuming you've done this through the script end box and not with a quest and a script. The only way that I could see you doing this is by making a quest that isn't an actual quest but like an unmarked quest where you'd make 2 quest stages, one before he takes it and one after he does. After that you'd simply put a condition in the dialogue, just how you did the GetIsId except you'd get QuestStage (or something like that it's been a while since ive used the GECK) and check if its equal to maybe 10 or something and if it is then that dialogue option will show up. After you give him the Jet you'd change the quest stage in the Script End by writing SetStage MyQuest 20 which would then make it so that the quest stage is 20 and now the dialogue option won't show up since you're now on quest stage 20. Hope this helped and sorry it was late!
