Huge shoutout to both Rekkles and Febiven for this series. Rekkles... Well, i suppose i don't have to say anything about why he was crowned mvp of the series. But Febiven, that guy is insane, probably the best mid laner in europe right now. Yes, he seldom has those crazy highlight plays like Rekkles did this series or Huni had during the split. But he has had NOT A SINGLE GAME this split where he fell behind by a significant margin, always keeping up in cs, always keeping up in pressure, roaming when he needed to, just perfectly playing out each and every situation. And thats why he's so immensely important to FNC, bcs we've seen that while Huni can make great plays, he can also get rekt pretty hard (gp vs fizz in game 4). And when the side lanes fall behind, Febiven is the man they look to to pull them out of the mud. He can apply constant pressure, he's incredibly safe, and his understanding of when to go aggressive is outstanding.

Tulkas Astaldo this guy is totally right here , I have to admit too this Febiven made me curse a lot sometimes during the games because I was supporting Origen. Even when the laning phase wasn't in his favor he managed to constantly being PRESENT and almost never got behind! That's not something a lot of players can do. He surely deserved it...

This is why EU>NA. Really close game between two world class teams. I think they, combined, can go far at Worlds. I think Origen can get out of the groups, and Fnatic perhaps can even reach the finals!

  • @endefisto123

+ConcorLP They wont. In this world format LGD is 1st seed in China and SKT is 1st seed in Korea so they wont be in a group together. Also if LGD FNC and SKT win their groups which i kinda expect LGD and SKT to do depends what teams fnatic will have to face from china and/or korea they wont even meet in the quarters. Still i saw SKT in the finals and they made KT rolster look like bronze players, so i don't know, but if the draft goes the right way for FNC they won't face either of those teams till the final. There is a chance of fnatic winning worlds its not big but its the closest a western team has had in the last few years.

Congratulations to Fnatic in winning the Summer split. Hugely important for seeding purposes for Worlds since as first seed they will avoid SKT or LGD who won their regionals. Rekkles played an amazing series and between him and Febiven really showed some consistency where Huni, Reignover and Yellowstar had some rough patches in the series. Febiven especially is criminally underrated and I am very guilty of this as well. Febiven had some massive games, with his Orianna which he brought out first time this year, not just this split and he absolutely crushed in team fights. The problem I had with Fnatic was their pick and bans phase. I didn't mind the bans so much, but I really didn't like the lack of engage they were going into the games. It just allowed Origen to dictate the early part of the game because they would gank a lane and start getting leads off it. Fnatic's early rotations were also problematic since they were usually behind in turret pushing down towers in a lane swap situation. Something we haven't seen in past matches yet in this series they showed some weakness in that regard. This whole series was actually pretty close and Origen could of taken it. After the first game Soaz's level dropped markedly, he did a fair bit of feeding in this series and I get Origen not wanting Febiven not getting his Azir since its one of his best champions, but Xpeke was flat out bad on him. Was not happy that Gangplank became such a huge pick in this series. Why? Play your meta picks, if Soaz played Gangplank, then use either Fizz or Riven to counter it. Huni didn't really look good on him and to me Gangplank is such a gimmicky champion. Chain barrels to crit for 1k+ damage because he can bypass most of the tanks armor. Pretty gimmicky champion when you have abilities that do this. Deilor is going to have to work on his picks and bans for Worlds but at least when Fnatic head to China and boot camp with EDG, things should improve in that regard. I also think Fnatic was going too heavy into Lulu, I can see Lulu being useful but for Fnatic who like to run 3 threat comps, don't play Lulu unless its a comp designed with Lulu in it. Huni needs to be on a carry, not named Gangplank by the way. He sucked on him. As for Origen, they still have a chance to qualify for Worlds. They need to win the regional playoffs which after this series should prove they are the best team left.

He fight well at the last game, and I hated the flash body slam of Amazing, he just wanted to take to kill to Soasz. Clearly, they can beat Fnatic, but I think that they'll need more teamplay, Fnatic's teamplay is awesome.

+Wall E Cause its suicide to farm alone in lane cause it is hard to predict if there is lane swap. If it is, the opponent(ADC and Support) will either zone the top laner or kill with jg or in a 3 v 1. Makes the top laner waste time and really weak later on or even gives up 1st blood.

+Wall E Farming 2 champ in jg helps more since it gives the top laner some exp(At least to lvl 2) to have a higher chance to survive ganks. Sometimes the opponent support might chase the jg away from their own camp. The jg will farm faster and will not loose a lot of hp since top tanks them, then both join the bot champs to kill towers. Top then goes back base full health then teleport to the opposite lane. Top champs nowadays have lesser gold than support if not played right.

+Ryan Tobiasen The match was so intense and close so its hard to cheer when both are similarly match until one team wins in a team fight. I guess it might be embarassing to cheer when suddenly a fight broke out and the team they were cheering were ambushed.

Doku Kanal So you can tell who won which games from seeing a 2-2 statline? After watching games 1 through 3, you'd only be able to tell who won game 4, which still leaves you with three games to watch; 4 if you include game 5. Stop whining.

  • @wambowelt

Thomas Lindenhovius Its more about how many wins each team had. When you look at the vods and you immediately see that it went to game 5, do you bother watching the other 4? Besides, one of the exciting parts of the series was whether Fnatic would be unbeaten or not. That was the biggest spoiler for me.

Doku Kanal I can see where you're coming from, but that's the downfall of not being able to see the games live. You'd see the amount of games that are posted anyway, so the thumbnail doesn't matter as much. And yes, I am the kind of person that watches the first three matches if I see a 2-2 scoreline, because it still holds excitement. I can understand why not everyone is like that though.

+Doku Kanal When you open the channel you don't have to look at all the vids posted. I just scroll down and open Game 1. From there you can open all the next games so there's no spoilers unless you want it. You chose to look at all the vids yourself.

Doku Kanal "i know immediately who win which game because of spoilers in the thumbnail and game 5.." I don't know how you know that, all you can see is a 2-2, there never was a spoiler of which team won which game..

have to say i had high hopes for fnatic having chances winning worlds after the perfect split. finally someone who can challenge the korean (and chinese) teams. but after seeing how poorly they played against origen here, tho xpeke and soaz just seemingly dont seem have the skill anymore to compete on the world stage (which is fine, they had their times and everbody loves those too anyway). this games were just far too close. guess worlds goes to korea third year in a row, if china cant stop skt, which i doubt bc china looked a bit rusty this this season too, guess just too much potential split up on too many teams. and just too much ego play rather than teamwork. well we will see. but im pretty sure skt takes home the title for the second time.

Shane Jacob not necessary, but its a warning singal. also i didnt say they suck. but it will take perfection to take down skt and the other top3 teams. and perfection is certainly not what we ve seen here. but like i said. we will see.

Roman Randhahn they played super good throughout the season...this is the most mistakes they made this season in games. So wtf? SKT make mistakes, EDG make mistakes, LGD make mistakes. The LpL finals wasn't that good to watch. EU Finals were better. But here u are..saying guess another Korean team wil lwin...even tho the only good team which is SKT which lost a few games now...will win...get a grip.
