The theory time: So I’m thinking the reason William was killed because this new unnamed character got jealous of Lora’s and William’s relationship and then proceeded to k!ll William. It’s obvious that William did not know about him, based on the cut in and cut out. I think that maybe the unnamed character was also kept in the dark? And then Lora left him in favor of William?

my theory: so the guy that possesses ballora is Lora's first husband, but something happened and they divorced and out of jealously he killed William and imma assume Lora killed him cause it makes more sense :P

Part of me wonders that since people are comparing this new person to the shadow person at the end of the sunshine video, if this person was forced into Ballora as a sort of revenge or punishment for what he did to William

VERY LATE THEORY TIME!! I’m only saying this because I see nobody else talking- I mean, writing about this. If you look at the vid “You are my Sunshine”, at the end there is that dude who kills Swap!William. I think that dude is none other than Sugar Baby. I’m only saying this because the hair matches. The guy in the Sunshine vid has similar hair to Mr. Sugar Baby so it wouldn’t be a bad idea to say that Sugar Baby was the one who killed Will. I’m guessing Will knew nothing about Mr. Sugar Baby bc of the cut ins and outs. People can say that Swap!Will should’ve known his killer bc of how he asks him not to harm his children, but I think any loving parent would plead to a killer to not harm their children. Then again, that’s just a theory. A VERY MIX-MATCHED, UNORGANIZED, AND NOT-VERY-WELL-WRITTEN THEORY!
