I'm just now realizing just how hard it is to see Springtrap in fnaf 3. William being smart by being sneaky.(But also just taunting the night guard/Michael by staring at the camera)

What I love about FNAF 1 is how the graphics/renders make everything look like a actual pizzeria that could exist in real life, minus the moving child possessed animatronics of course.
@cheese7119
Жыл бұрын
I feel like they achieved that by not directly lighting the animatronics. Making us imagine half of their sillouetes in that darkness and making them stand in pretty distorted poses. For example at 1:53 back in 2015 when I'd watch fnaf playthroughs I don't think I've ever known how to look at foxy :'D My vision deceived me all this time to not know what am I seeing exactly but to know someone is there. I would look and see the eyes but in my mind the head was tilted the other way and i saw the head as kinda like a broken neck then a round shape in the dark but I realized I was looking at the image from the wrong angle all this time and when I finally saw foxy there I couldn't unsee him but I'll always remember that picture who messed with my brain xD

Static obscuring the imperfections is a staple in analog horror for good reason. The game also benefits from the Myst effect, if budget and time is equal, real time graphics will pretty much always lose out to prerendered when it comes to fidelity, at the cost of having less dynamic scenes/movement.

The most creepiest thing about fnaf, is how you never get a good look towards the humans. You may see their voices, or their dead bodies. The FNAF 1 animatronics strike me as being the creepiest without the static. I was physically uncomfortable during the entirity of the images from the first game. Oddly enough, I think I had the most unsettled reaction at 2:08. I know there aren't any animatronics in that shot, but I never knew that the light went out in that hallway and something about that really disturbed me. The other set of images that creeped me out was of the animatronics during the salvages in Pizzeria Simulator, reavealing just how subtle their movements are. Funnily, I mostly groaned in anger at the FNAF 3 images because I never managed to beat the game due to having such a hard time finding Springtrap through the static, so seeing his hiding spots revealed had me realize just how many times I kept staring at the wrong spots in the room.

One of the reasons why I love these games is because they have a sort of photo realism that makes it feel like your in an actual pizzeria. Except for the newer releases, like security breach, which has a more cartoon aesthetic. The older games have more realism, although you aren't moving around much, it still feels like you're actually there. This is why so many people want to see a movie because these characters look like they can exist in real life.

@ZenoDovahkiin
Жыл бұрын
It's real 3D just as much as any computer graphics are 3D my dude. It's not _real time,_ but it's still 3D animation. Also why "but"? They look like that precisely _because_ they are prerendered. If you generate the images in-engine in real time, you're gonna have 33ms to render each image if you target just 30fps, in a prerendered scene you have hypothetically infinite time per image (practically it of course depends on when you want the game finished). If you render one second of animation per hour, you have 3600 times as much time per frame achieving the same framerate, so you can use much slower but in turn much more convincing render methods. Just because the imagery was ultimately generated by Cycles, Renderman, Arnold, etc instead of Unreal Engine, Unity, Godot, so on, doesn't mean it's suddenly 2D animation though. In case you knew all all this, ignore this reply.

Out of the original trilogy: FnaF 1. Captured the sheer horror of the situation better than the rest. FnaF 2. My personal favorite. While creepy, it doesn't hold a candle to it's predecessor in terms of horror. The character designs of Mangle, the Puppet, as well as withered Bonnie & Chica are definitely all-timers, though! FnaF 3. Super underrated, especially given that Springtrap is arguably the best villain in the series to go up against (given his real identity, that checks out). I just love how tactical & methodical William's movements are! It's somewhat reminiscent of Freddy in the first game, but amped up even more!

I wasn’t l the only one home or awake, but it was still scary as shit to see that. Thank god I was laying in bed and not standing in the middle of the room or someshit.
While the third game may not have been that great, there was something eerily human and extra creepy about how afton looked and moved. This wasn't a possessed robot. It was a psycho sneaking around and wanting to harm you.

8:41 I like how Springtrap looks like a deer in headlights situation.
Sister location is the most disturbing place imo. The feelings of that game are like a mix of long term agony and desperation. It's as if every thing, from the animatronics to the people who were there and even the small robots/AI have been tortured endlessly and the Player is their ultimate ticket out. Even the music in that game feels like a plan being hatched rather than creating a sense of fear. It's dark and moody, and really gives the impression of a place filled with misery that is finally being escaped. I also really like the unrelenting feeling of UCN. It feels like total hell with no end. The music sounds somber and hopeless, like being trapped with no way out. Yet it's exactly what the protag deserves, so it's hard to feel bad.
@dysphoria_1.040

Canonically, that's what the sister location was intended to be. It was where Afton put his family, or just ones he didn't like. It was supposed to be a Hell of his creation. He sent Michael there specifically to kill him.

The cameras have almost diminished roles as the series goes on and you eventually only use a few of them for specific reasons (Freddy in fnaf1, puppet in FNAF2, hovering one cam in Fnaf3) and for other games you don't use them at all. It's so interesting to see the many set pieces that Scott created. The atmosphere is haunting and with the lighting and reflections and other uses of environment, Scott makes it feel real. There's an overwhelming feeling of loneliness, yet you're very much not alone in these places.

What I love about FNAF 1 is the feeling you get that the whole pizzeria is under the influence of the ghosts. It feels grimy, unpolished, dirty, and there's always dark corners where the animatronics aren't afraid to go in, kind of taunting you to be looking into them. It's kind of like what the books say "the pizzeria belonged to them". The place is their little playground, where you don't know anything about it, but they do, playing their twisted game with you. Something that I miss in a lot of the Fan Games and even the newer official games is that the animatronics do creepy stuff in general. They look straight at you from the cameras, they hide in the corners, and you just catch a glimpse at them.

I think it’s their violent shaking and uncanny movement, and you only see them for a second. To me most of the of the other games’ jumpscares don’t feel the same cause they’re either onscreen for too long (FNAF 6, UCN) or don’t have enough movement (FNAF 2, FNAF 3).

FNAF 1 & 2 are the scariest parts because it's way more focus on tension and ambience. Also, you need to check the cameras and doing tasks (for FNAF 2) while to make sure no animatronics come to get you. FNAF 3 is meh because only Springtrap who can jumpscare you and there's no a lot of things to do. FNAF 4 is more like survival because we have to check every corners to stay alive. FNAF 5 a.k.a Sister Location is trying too hard to be scary and I can't take the animatronics too seriously after see how goofy they are. FNAF 2's animatronics are also goofy (except withered versions of Originals) but not as goofy as FNAF 5's animatronics. FNAF 6 should be the end of the franchise. The ending is perfect. Henry dies alongside with his daughter, Charlotte a.k.a The Puppet who is inside Lefty and then his enemies, William a.k.a Springtrap, Elizabeth a.k.a Baby and I don't know who possessed Funtime Freddy and don't forget Michael who should died at Sister Location. Michael finally rest in peace (maybe because there's a theory he possesed Glamrock Freddy) and he's finally not feeling guilty anymore for his brother died, Crying Child in FNAF 4 and he's not feeling the burden of losing his siblings and also get away from his psycho dad. UCN is just a filler game because it's just old Willy getting tormented by his creations. And yes, I don't count Help Wanted and Security Breach as the other sequels because they're just keep milking it.
