Adam, incredible video - nothing new there but i've been using the trailing arms from McCue and they have been great but I am looking for more articulation then they can provide. Modified FCX will destroy all others even if modified! Those and the swampkings are my go to. Flubbers with fix side wall issue. Velcro your tegu on the transmission and run the stock battery in holder. This way you can drop the body down. I run the rear scx link arms up front. If you go with the shock loops I showed you and the shocks you'll spend some time with a Dremel to modify the body but its well worth it!!! I love Furitek motors but I opted for MOFO BAM 4100KV bolts right up. All metal gears are a MUST with this motor. In first gear it slow crawls well and the the punch is amazing. In second gear its just bananas almost incontrollable. No need for 3s unless your making a drag truck LOL. Merry Christmas. PM on facebook if you want to know more....

Thats an Awesome build. But im looking for something twice the size. So i guess like my tj ill have to build it from scatch.
Hello! What wheel nuts are you using? Also, what steel driveshaft would you recommend for the Furitek Cayman Pro? Thanks!
Is there a set of links out there for the front uppers that allow a pivot ball to screw into the chassis like a scx24, rather than how it is directly screwed to the chassis?
Awesome build! Matter of fact - this build that you made is the reason that I bought Fcx24 as my first crawler. I already have some upgrades lined up for it. However, as I'm still not very knowledgeable on this matter, is it possible to use this Furitek brushless motor with the original ESC ? I tried to search some info about the original ESC and what are it's possibilities, but hit a dead end. Thank you and greetings from Bulgaria.
@CapeCrawlers

Hello! No, I do not believe the Furitek motor is compatible with the stock esc/rx combo.
Man, this is so cool.... I have been into 10th scale, but I did get my 8yr old daughter a scx24 JLU she loves and I have done a couple small mods... Really like the small class and ability to have really small area maps to run on, really gives the same satisfaction as larger with small space requirements. This rig here is insane, it's so cool how many options they are making for these units. Question.... She sees my faster rigs and at times wants just to drive faster what would you recommend for a little more speed without sacrificing its crawl ability etc where maybe it would be a little more exciting for here.. Pinion gear? Motor? Or is it just not good to go faster with it... Don't need super fast maybe like a 50% speed increase over what it is out of box
@CapeCrawlers
Жыл бұрын
I love that your daughter is into it. That's so awesome. I would suggest the Buzzsaw motor from Mofo RC! It's WAY faster than stock but still has good crawling ability. Plus its a direct bolt in with little to now additional modification necessary.
Great video. You had mentioned you put metal gears in the transmission. Which metal gears did you install? Did you put the FMS brand metal gears, or the treal Metal gears?

How would you compare the slow crawl ability with the stock esc and a hobbywing 1080? Im sure the 1080 has more options, but are they similar for slow crawling?
@CapeCrawlers
Жыл бұрын
I haven't tried the hobbywing so I can't speak for that one. I can say that the FCX24 with the furitek system is one of the smoothest powertrains I have
Hi! what's the idea behind adding weight to the front? FCX24 already has too heavy front.
@CapeCrawlers
Жыл бұрын
I always try to bias the front. When I add weight to the back I try to overcompensate and add more to the front. Also with the shock positioning the way it is, it tends to pull the front end up on inclines. I need a lot of weight to keep the front tires planted.
what are your thoughts with cutting stock springs down to get some ride height but still be slammed
@CapeCrawlers

I think that's a good approach. I've done the same thing on aftermarket shocks and it works great.
