I have gotten 15 mins with the 2200 pack on a windy day with lots of power off gliding into the wind. I have heard others getting over 20 mins, but I'm not very good at power management yet. You can see in this video that 7:30 completely drains my battery with throttle around 50% for most of the flight.

@roadworms: Please don't take this as a recommendation. I just pushed the prop onto the stock prop adapter/standoff and tightened down the spinner. The hex on the stand off just happened to press fit into the counter-bore of the prop. (see description above for link) I made no attempt to balance. The stock motor seems to be very loose as is. (again, not a recommendation) I get a lot of vibration in the tale at full throttle. I have already swapped out that prop for a APC 6X4. I like it better

I have got a stock model, the only improvement I've made so far is the HK401B Gyro to stabilize the ailerons. it does work although I'm still trying to find the best settings. using the stock 1300mAh battery pack (64g only) for the first 6 flights (in my life and of my model) I could keep it in the air for 14-16 mins and I'm pretty sure, I could & should extend it easily. at the moment I'm flying with the kitchen timer set for 12mins to have a power reserve to bring it back and land it ;-)

I do not yet have back to back speed comparisons with the 3 bladed prop. It certainly seems to provide more thrust and climbs with more authority.

For the 6X4 APC prop, I removed the stock prop adapter and used one from a Turnigy D2826-6 2200kv Outrunner. This keeps the prop in roughly the same position as the stock prop. I'm not really confident in the durability. The motor shaft is very long vs. diameter. The prop adapter had to be really cinched down on the threaded shaft. Nevertheless, I flew it tonight and it was great. JCX removed - it's actually much smoother now. About 19A peak w/ the APC 2-blade vs. 23A w/ the 3-blade MA.

did you balance the c/g at 70mm like the book said it seems really nose heavy at 70mm or did you add weight to the tail. thanks jim

Thanks, i think i'll give the APC a try. Balancing the prop is really worth it, have a look at my latest video "Kilometer 657" ( /watch?v=ECrnpLIsioQ ) ... all flown with half to full throttle and recorded with 808#16. I used the laser & mirror method described in that flitetest video.

Compared to the stock prop: How much faster does the 3-blade prop make the ET? Does it give more thrust for climbing?

What prop mount did you use? (HK parts nr appreciated.) Thanks in advance. (If i unmount my prop to measure the motor's axle, i have to re-balance the prop, cos the stock prop mount really sucks.)

... and what's the average flight time w/ the 2200 mAh batteries?
