Wait and watch becomes an option if the coin has crossed the CP constriction, CP constriction is the narrowest and if there’s dysphagia, rigid oesophagoscopy is the choice. In case of a non inert FB like a button battery, irrespective of the clinical picture and site, you do an immediate rigid oesophagoscopy because of battery acid and it’s risk of perforation. Hope this explanation cleared your confusion.
