You are one of the most advanced fm KZreadrs, amazing communicator of strategy and so much effort put into guides and strategy instead of just filming your saves, yet you don't seem to get recognition from the community.. WTF? How do these videos not have more views??

This is easily the best FM channel anywhere. I am relatively new to the game, and find this one to be most concise and efficient. There is another good one that is from a guy in Spain, but this channel is awesome. I love the talk about defensive wings, as it is such a key part to building a solid strategy in the game.

Very helpfull, i usually feel the roles in game that have automatic duties in them, dont workso well, but seeing this video helped me tweeking the tactic in order to better those player roles

great video again,i'm watching this channel since atleast a year and im looking to the game in a different way from then but sometimes i feel like it makes me paranoia,for example if i see a bad thing or not a good thing in a highlight (since every highlight is a story) i feel like i need to do something or change something,that ends up with messing with tactic usually lel

Just a little correction, my friend. Guardiola never used Inverted Wingbacks with Barca. He used it at Bayern M first and now at City. At Barca, Pep used one defensive WB (Abidal) and one Complete WB (Alves).

Yes that’s correct sometimes words get ahead of my brain.

In Football Manager 2014 I used Urby Emanuelson as a left wingback in the wingback position, managing AC Milan. He was amazing! He made so many assists. I won my first european cup and the only european cup I've won so far. I copied Van Gaal's tactic from the 2014 world cup. (not that I understood it.. but it won me a lot of game with Rami as central defender and Blackburn Rover's Jordan Rhodes as my striker. )

I didn't buy FM 2017 and I'm quite happy about that with all the changes in FM2018. I've only been playing FM2018 for a month, so no big stand out players except Shaun Miller in Carlisle save. I did sign a player named Migiel Zeller from an amateur club for Sampdoria to try and play as a stopper. He's not playing too badly in the serie A and scored a goal.. lol

So what's more attacking FB-A or WB-D or WB-S? I kind of see WB as a couple of duties up from FB and CWB a duty up from WB. But basically play WB in a wingelress system even with WB-D seems fine on one side your right he still moves up into midfield to be an extra passing option, while I have a WB-A on other side and he get most of my assists. Great video as always. Yo should challenge the other FM youtube video's to a cup.

When I need to decide between WB-Su and FB-A, what should I take into consideration?

Whether or not your midfield needs him for support and whether he has good attacking attributes

I am balls deep in a Norwich save and currently need to buy a starting left back. What are your thoughts on defensive wing backs? I honestly just prefer my backs to stay back and defend. I run a counter system so I am unsure if it’s worth spending big money on a great attacking wingback when I already have a winger on support on the left. I am struggling to find decent budget fullbacks lol. I got club infrastructure to upgrade and can’t blow my wad on transfers. I have had bad experiences with defensive fullbacks. Has anyone found them effective? I find most times they aren’t actually good enough at defending to be worth staying that far back.

Honestly I usually aim to have at at least one fullback who has good defensive attributes, but it’s not vital cos when push comes to shove you can always get a DM or a CD to play there as a stop gap measure. Focusing on bringing in a player specifically for that can limit your tactical options, esp because you can’t switch the focus for attacks on that flank from deep.

Would you say a player with higher attributes and lowercurrent ability star rating is a better choice than a player who plays the same role but has a greater current ability star rating?

I will always care about attributes first and play him there. He will eventually get comfortable

Why the FB(D) has a lower starting position than the Defensive Full Back? It doesn't make sense in my mind for 2 reasons 1. The Defensive Full Back has a lower mentality 2. The Defensive Full Back 'concentrates solely on his defensive duties' (I'm paraphrasing from the game)

If you look at the tactical grid when you choose a DFB then choose a FB(D), you will notice that the FB(D) has a higher starting position.t
