Flysurfer Soul 15 m2 - Light Wind Kitefoiling

Ғылым және технология

Flysurfer Soul 15 m2 Start in light wind. Kitesession in Poland. Location Powidz Lake by Poznań. Foilboard Shinn Jackson 120 and Moses Fluente Foil. It was a nice warm October day in Poland. Warmest ever since I remember. I enjoyed the session because it was my first one on the new Flysurfer Soul 15. I was not sure to buy soft kite after my previous experience years ago but finally I decided to try soft kite once again. It was good decision :-) Now I don't care about wind forecast any more :-) This video shows my first steps with this kite. The wind was as you can see very light. And the direction was offsore.

    In this video I just used the default setup because it was my first ride and I did not want to wait for new setup :-). Now I changed the the lines a little. New setup has 15 m lines plus 6 m extensions and new fly out line. I like also the Cabrinha Bar better than the FS one. In the next future I will change the lines as you can see it in this link: facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=2040299122683251&set=pcb.2276804062538817&type=3&theater&ifg=1

    I had the same question... Good to know that it's possible to use a regular bar from inflatable kites. I have a Contra 15m for light winds but looking for a 15m Soul to make the ride easier, however, in my country, it's pretty hard to find these kites to buy. Thus, I'm looking for them abroad and would ship it. Could you give me an idea how heavy is just the kite with bag (with no bar as I'd use my Contra's bar as you did)

    Thanks! 🙂 Depends on foil you ride. Few weeks ago I changed from fluente to Moses Onda. I think biggest I need is 12m now. Can't imagine that I could go earlier foiling with bigger kite. Now with Onda I'm starting to foil with "no wind". Even the size of the Foilboard isn't that important any more to get up on the foil.

    Hello I use a 15m soul with twin tip, so I need minimum wind to be able to go upwind😅 I saw you always use kiteloop to get power, is it a must all time?😊 I also got an issue with low wind increasing suddenly to gale force, and nobody staying on the beach🥶 Even in not such conditions, I’d like to see a good video of self landing in too strong wind for 15m2 (20/25kts)🥵

  • @buenacloud

    @buenacloud

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hi, the technique to start on foil is a little different than on TT. You start in much less wind than on TT and with loop you can start in less wind. The way your kite is generating power is longer when you loop. Secure self landing with Soul is possible in strong wind if you bring your kite down to the 9 O'Clock on the Edge of Wind Window and activate the quick release, the kite will flag out and all power will be gone. Your kite will maybe do 2 or 3 turns and finally will drop down. You need than go to the kite pulling the flag out line. Try it first in less wind to see how it works. If there is no place on the beach you need to do this on the water. Hope it helps you.

    Hi, thanks for your comment 🤞 I strongly recommend Soul 15 for light wind. If you use shorter lines. For example 15m long you will have bigger wind range with the soul 15. You'll be never overpowered up to 20 knots or even above with shorter lines.
