I finally just set my timer for 7 minutes...and cleaned out two drawers, arranged, and lined them. This is the greatest feeling... I cannot thank you enough! I'd been putting that off for too long & it was so EASY. Get a timer people...it really works!

I have my cooking routine to make it easier for me. Tuesday is rice day, Wednesday is Potato day, Thursday is Pasta day, Friday is flexible.... rice asian style or with meat, potatos out of the ofen, sliced or mashed potatoes, Pasta with Sauce or along with veggies or meat. I chose the basics and then I jumble around with the varieties...

I really need to live in a little European village with a butcher and baker and green grocer all within biking distance so I could shop everyday. I like to cook on the fly, ie., what sounds wonderful today, but it is not practical. You are helping me think more long term. I like hearing you talk about what you cook. In fact, one of the joys of your videos is simply hearing you talk about how you go about things. How lucky we are to have you!

Good points Diane about making dinner . . that it is ok to use some ready made dishes to round out your meal. It's that all or nothing thinking that gets in the way. Really, no need to complicate things, just get dinner on the table! Recently, I tell myself that what I've done is Good Enough!

I plan on a week base saturday to thursday. Do shopping on saturday. No plan for friday, That could be leftovers, it could be things worked out different and a meal was not cooked so changed to friday, could be take-out. Also do a check up on the fridge on saturday when I put away my groceries for science projects. I put the meals on a calender to prevent eating every week the same. Try to do one new recipe every week.

You are so right that we are hard on ourselves about how everything has to be homemade to be any good! Then we just want to give up and get pizza. Then you start feeling guilty. This way seems so much better:) Thank you for the great ideas, and the guidance:)

Thank you for today's video. It is good to be reminded I don't have to go out and milk the cow if I want to have cheese. I tend to be an all or nothing person and go overboard, and end up burning out. I don't have to make everything from scratch. Guess that means Ikea meatballs that are already in the freezer are good enough for supper tonight! Love your instagram posts too. So inspiring!

Thank you, I am very bad a planning in general, more of a fly by night person, but that has changed with Flylady and you. It the all or nothing attitude that hinders us. Thank you for your wonderful example of balancing getting things done snd fun.

❣Hi Diane, skål med nyponsoppa och tunnbröd ;-), we've friends who are often in Sweden and are so kind to shop for us, I love that on cold days! You look like spring in your pretty blouse and today IS the meteorolological spring, hurray! I like your calm way of planning, that's gives fun into the necessary things. I always was this type of making even my own noodles and bread, of course working full time...I LOVE cooking and baking, but I had to find a balanced middle way. Now, with a birthday party on Saturday, I ALMOST was back into that milking-the-cow feeling, haha, so funny this expression:-)))! But you stopped me at the right time...tack så mycket! Hope your Swedish course is still fun, love, Monika❣

Me too! The Mexican Lasagna is delish! A family fave. Also did Leanne's freezer meals often. My sis and I'd spend a whole day prepping 20 or so meals. And we did her menu mailers - she had free ones back then. Still have them printed.

Just curious. How warm do you keep your home? You've been inspiring me to wear more of my wardrobe on a daily basis rather than keeping some pieces just for dress up. But right now I have to layer up and wear sweaters everyday to keep warm. Our home is a steady 69 degrees F.

Dianne: I would love to dress as Diane does, but I live in Florida and that along with body chemistry does not allow me to dress like her. I usually just wear a cotton blouse and 3/4 length bottoms.

I had to laugh because I'm that "extreme" girl. Oh yes, phases of I don't want to cook, to...we shall grow our own, make our own, exercise daily, and become vegan.bwa-ha-ha-ha! Both versions cost a fortune and each result in the feeling of failure. Ok, that's not funny, but its so typical of what we "I " do😞. Love love love the middle ground❤️❤️❤️
