I’ll never understand how that airline was seconds from having an empty seat yet they still charge 400+ for a one way

Why not make a series of it, start in your home town and see how may trips to random locations it takes before you return? The rules:- 1 .it has to be a minimum of three flights 2. You can only go to each country and city once 3. It has to start and end in your home town or outside Liverpool FC's stadim and end there. See it as an Around The World in 80 Days sort of thing.

Try going to the airport and going to the desk and asking for a ticket for the next flight that's leaving that you can make and see where you end up :)
