    It’s nowhere near the cheapest, it’s mostly the maintenance that’s cheap. Yearly costs are half that of an R22 and they come with avionics

    Keep in mind the reason mainstream helicopters are so expensive this due to the certification process, that literally flat out doubles the cost of any aircraft on the market. Pound for pound the equipment r&d craftsmanship and time to build an r22 should put it at effectively no more than 120 to 150k, competitive with this helicopter if it weren't for the FAA's overreach

    Their drive system looks about as strong as a mosquito but has 3 times the power. They have had issues with the old chain and even the new belt system snapping as well as drive shafts. The design from the beginning was very novice, not sure if the still have a belt running to the tail rotor.

  • @Maverickib

    @Maverickib

    11 ай бұрын

    New design has a drive shaft for the tail rotor. Not enough hours logged in the newer machines to know how much more reliable it is, but I'd definitely trust it more than the janky triple belt setup they used to have based on principle alone.
