Have you tried weighted beads at the articulation point? Also, why don't you put the beads down before you wrap the body?

I feel that the metal beads kind of rub on the connection wire too much.

You also want the weight to be in the front piece of the fly, to get the right "jigging" movemnet.

I'm a new tier. I've got a decent vise alredy. what you suggest to get my materials collection going.

You're not a dummy, all of us have made this kind of mistake. The fish again, won't mind. They will still chase and eat that fly because if it is swimming upside down it must be injured or dying. Further, it is definitely shiny and fish are not smart as you said at the beginning of the video. Tell Curtis he is mean for not telling you to turn the fly while he was taping. Why not do the beads first and dub over them then they are truly hidden?
