I got to tie some of these. It's streamer time now here in CT. Got a lot of rain again this week and I got up to 38 deg F. No frost yet, Rifle Deer Season Starts Monday. Lots of leaves are still on the trees. Plenty of time Rifle season is four weeks long. Dave is a legend in his own time. I became aware of him back around 1967! I fish his Red Fox Squirrel Nymph a lot it's my third favorite Nymph pattern after the Hare's Ear and PT.
This was my go to streamer for many years before the streamer game became as popular as it is. Still use it.
Really enjoyed that clip guys. I too have fished this fly since the mid 90's. A real classic. Cheers
A little zonker strip would look good too instead of the feathers
Nice. Excellent that you include materials that can be substituted.
Watched this all the way from Scotland, lovely dressing !! Or as we say here , that's a wee belter of a flee 😉 👌 👍

Thanks!!!
This is an awesome pattern...I tie a variation with rubber legs as well. Great job as always
Thanks to Dave Whitlock for a timeless pattern. One of many!
Nice looking pattern cheech!! Thanks for sharing!!
That is an awesome fly I definitely want to try it
To keep the thread from slipping off the hook eye, rotate the hook upside down when wrapping the dubbing loop.
I like your method of building the head, definitely gonna tie some of these tonight. All I got is the brown color though
Very nice Cheech! Recommended variations: barred Chickabou tail, silicone skirt tab pectoral fins, cream dubbed belly with rabbit strip over top,....?
Love it! Thanks
I LOVE that Dave Whitlock SLF dubbing.
love the slim streamer, cheech! btw, ever since I saw your parachute adams tie off method with the super glue on the parachute itself, i've always wondered if you got the idea for that from DW? I know he did that with some of his patterns, I recall way back, Whitlock was a guest on the old show The Angler's Art and he said much the same as you about tying off a pattern with super glue: never had a fly come apart because of it etc... All the best to FFF guys! TW
Nice fly!!
Nice. Sub bead chain eyes, grizzly sackle and purple flash = Sacramento perch fry. Tight lines.
That purple vise tho. Love it.
going to use those in belize for bonefish😳looks like a little crab maybe with my own ideas
Fly shop customer: “please show me where the whiting sackles are” Fly shop employee: ☠️ 😂
Hello Cheech. What size line and leader do you use when you cast this fly?
Where do we find sackle? I have looked everywhere for it but can only find saddle. I found one place that sells both saddle and sacks, but no sackle.
Hey Cheech, do you guys carry hen shackle? 😊
When will the hen sackle be back in stock?
Hen Sackle 😳
What brand of super glue did you use?
Великолепно 👍👌🤝🙋♂️
Why use a jig hook since the eyes will make it ride hook up?

It keels even better. Also the 708 has a great point.
I love me a good hen sackle!
How come your hook looks like black nickel finish and the TMC 708 is bronze; exclusively with no equivalent Please reply
