Fly Tying Tutorial | 2 Material Redfish Fly | The Slicked Back Willy

This is an extremely easy, but very effective two material fly pattern for redfish.
The slicked back willy is a great pattern for novice fly tiers, or tiers that want simple flies that can be whipped up very quickly. An eye opening experience for me was seeing a guide's fly box for the first time. It was not full of complicated, intricate patterns like I was trying to tie, it was full of very simple, not very pretty patterns in a few different colors. The slicked back willy is very similar to that type of pattern.
It looks very wormy in the water and the redfish can't resist it. This works especially well in the fall - spring months when the water is cooler and they're moving a little slower. Tie this fly in a warm brown, olive, tan, and black, or whatever else you think may be effective.
