Fly Tying // Blue Wing Olive Salt & Pepper BWO Dry Fly Pattern
Спорт
In this video I show you how to tie The BWO Salt & Pepper Blue Wing Olive dry fly pattern. I use this fly in flatter/calmer water when fish don't want something overly dressed or bulky. You can tie it in a bunch of colors to imitate what's hatching on your own home waters. Give it a try sometime and let me know how it works for you!

I've used EP Fibers in a color called 'quicksilver' that's a blend of light dun and black that works well too.

Let me know how it works for y oh
Love it, I found for mixing the fibers you can kinda twist the colors together and run a comb through it. Works really well

That's a great idea
one of the easier BWO variations. Good tie.

REALLY like this pattern. Quick tie with great profile. I don't have any EP fibers. Will Steve Farrar Blend work? Looks fairly similar. Also, do you have a floatant you like? Thanks!
Just watched a couple videos. Nice work. I have fished those run a few times this season. Great spot. Pretty quiet this time of year. See you out there. 👍

Gink or Umpqua Bug Butter both work well on this pattern

@@FlyingTies a follow up question to this for me would be, when you do fish with this thread body BWO, do You personally just add your floatant to the dubbing and wing and allow the abdomen and tail to sit lower in the surface film due to the material you selected for the tail, or do you just gink the entire fly and just go to work? Obviously it may be situationally different for you, but was curious what your go to or preference is when first attaching to your tippet?
So these are just regular ep fibres and not the trigger point?
@FlyingTies

Yup, just regular ep fibers. Thanks for watching!
How well does it float
@FlyingTies
Жыл бұрын
It floats really well as a single dry, but it won’t hold up a dropper
I think you used the wrong fly description haha
