Fly Products Rider, Moster 185 Factory R Assembly and how to break a prop

I'm excited to have bought a brand new Fly Products Rider, Moster Factory R while I was at the Bad Apples Fly-in. Unfortunately I had a hiccup on my first day of flying it but otherwise I love it! Enjoy this Paramotor installation ASMR style 😂

I've been geeking out on researching paramotors. I'll go to training before I decided on which paramotor and wing I'll buy but the one I'm planning on going to only sells 2 brands. One is parajet and from what I understand, an excellent product. Spendy tho. I like the double hoop on this. I'm sure that's a great thing for beginners.

I have the exact same motor/frame, new from OneUp back in Nov. I haven't had this issue, but thanks for sharing, I will implement this fix as well. The issue I had was the metering lever in the carb was set wrong from the factory and cause a whole series of errors and troubleshooting (some of which I introduced my own errors). Anyhow, ever I got that sorted it ran better. I am still troubleshooting some roughness around mid-range and hesitancy to go to full. It has not been the greatest experience from a running and tuning perspective.

Hello @ all! I also want to buy a new paramotor and have watched with great interest your two assembly videos (Skymax/Flyproducts). Those are also the two manufacturers I have picked out, but I can't decide between the two. I wanted to ask which one you think is better and what your recession is on the Skymax after 9 months. Can you recommend one? Thanks so much for everything! And keep up the good work!

I think they're pretty different so it depends on what you're looking for. They're both unique in their own way and one might fit your lifestyle better than the other. What are you looking for in a paramotor? You're welcome to call or message us too if you'd like. Information for that is in the video description.

@@MarkHuneycutt hey mark=) thanks for the quick reply! I want to get me a machine with the moster factory r. unfortunately, in germany it is not yet allowed to take off from anywhere, as it is in the usa, so good transportability would be important. the skymax should also be easy to transport in the trunk without being hit by a cloud of gasoline... which would give me a lot of flexibility. from a flying point of view i am an advanced beginner if i may say so and i am currently flying a dudek universal 1.1. but i want to buy a fast reflex glider in the future. do the two manufacturers differ so much in their flying characteristics? - i would be very happy if you could write two sentences or so on this point =) so far i have only flown fresh-breeze, as they are very common here in northern germany, and unfortunately i don't know anyone who flies flyproducts or skymax. i hope it is ok for you if i answer you here, maybe one or the other is interested in the question. unfortunately it is quite difficult to get reliable information... best regards from germany

@@mitnetrom4422 Transportability - Having assembled both paramotors, I think timewise they'd be similar but I'd prefer to break down the Rider because there's no unscrewing the top spar, folding arms down, tensioning the net etc like the Skymax. The Skymax tank I've heard doesn't leave a scent in the car which would be nice but what I left out on this Rider video is that there's a shutoff valve for the vent tube so you could close that off to prevent fumes from getting in the car or fuel spilling out. The downside on the shutoff valve might be fuel tank expansion on a hot day? Flying characteristics - I think on the ground, the Rider is better for reverse launching. The Skymax top spar is right behind your head and it bows out towards your head first before curving back. I've found that to sandwich my head between the risers and top spar sometimes when reversing. In flight, I need more time on both. I'm a bigger fan of Skymax swing arms because they're the standard smooth gooseneck arms so there's no bolts to bump up against but the Rider offers more adjustability in the arms. The Rider may have a bit less torque.
