Sasha Chuk never intended to become a writer, but the former literature student nonetheless published her novel Moon in 2018. She never intended to become a filmmaker, either, but her innate curiosity led her to make a series of short films. All of that has led to her feature film debut, Fly Me to the Moon, which reflects her own experience of growing up in Hong Kong in a family that immigrated here from Hunan. Though it's her debut effort, it has already generated impressive buzz. We met up with Chuk to find out why.
