Remember when fly fishing clear water if you see the fish chances are they can see you too

A tip from a trout fisherman: don't be shy of streams that seem really small. Trout are always in small streams.

Another tip: Don't strip into the current. Let your fly drift with the current and naturally end up in the trouts face. The reason that first trout didn't bite is because he was casting behind the fish and stripping into him, trying to jig the lure like he was bass fishing.

And another tip: trout are smart fish so letting it get a good look at the streamer isn’t ideal, you want to keep the streamer moving so the trout feels the need to chase! Awesome video man!

Dude, keep at the fly fishing! You are way better than you think you are. Plus the more you do it, the better you’ll get. You have great casts, sets, and enough knowledge already to change flies and presentation. It's good to see you fly fishing more! I think it's like driving manual versus automatic; it can be frustrating at first, but extremely fun once you find your rhythm. Sometimes the best thing to catch that bigger trout is the smallest thing in your fly box. Super counterintuitive, I know. As always, great video, man!

I’m here on vacation right now my dads friend is teaching me how to fly fish tomorrow I’m gonna use one of the fly rods without a reel I don’t know what their called though

Love the fly fishing content man. Usually when they come up and look at a fly and aren’t committing try a size or two smaller or just put on a BH nymph. A lot of the time it’s just about going to a smaller fly or a nymph. Good work tho bro keep it up.

I want to see you doing a lot more work on your personal pond!! Clear out some of the brush, make the bank look good. I saw a bench there, maybe fix that up?! Definitely get a new dock put in! Get some fish stocked up in there! I was super excited to watch that video where you dug out the little stream and put rocks in it, would love to have a whole series on your Maine pond!! My home state - so easy to take for granted. Some of the most breathtaking summers anyone could ask for; an outdoorsman’s paradise! Only tough thing is that we have ferocious winters, and very long spring and fall seasons. Our summers are short and end before you know it. Still seems all worth it to me ❤️

How satisfying it must be to roll up on a stream that you have not fished before with an angling technique you are still mastering and just smash the fishing. Like you said so much water so little time. Stay safe man and tight lines.

Jon B - I give you credit for using the fly rod even though you're not comfortable with it. As with everything, it just takes time and practice. Keep at it. You were in some very tough conditions for trout - it's recommended keeping water temps at 65° or below unless you're fishing for sustenance.

Hey John, I've been waiting for you to do a video in Maine for a while now. I'm a 19 year old fisherman, who fishes mainly for Largemouth but the Smallmouth bite in the rivers around here is great as well. I know that sometimes you do colab videos with local people, please let me know if you'd enjoy taking a day to go out in the kayaks my family owns and hitting a few absolute killer ponds for a day or two. The last time my 3 buddies and I went out, we came back after 6 hours with 102 fish, 36 of those being mine. You're an excellent content creator bro, it'd be amazing to fish with you man!
