Between the lakes is my favorite stretch, especially at night. My dreams of catching a big brown on the Madison came true during the salmon fly hatch in that stretch.

Another great one from MRO! Thanks for sharing the story and the laughs. So grateful I got to spend some time at the Slide Inn before I left the US, a fly fishers piece of heaven!

I spent a LOT of my summers growing up about 30 miles from there, in Island Park, fishing around Mt. Sawtell. Love that area, incredible fishing.

Hi. I broke my phone so I'm on my wife's for this one. I grew up learning to tie flies with my step-dad and my grandfather. They never taught me how to use the darn things. I had a friend that give me a rod last year. So I found y'alls videos and started practicing. As soon as I could this year, I went out. I caught 6 trout in the first hour. Now I'm hooked and have a use for my flies. Thanks for all the useful information.

Planned on including the Madison in on my recent 1400-mile loop fishing thru Western and Central Montana. Unfortunately, the hoot owl restrictions led to a change in plans. Too bad, it's such a great place to fish.
