Good video Brian. I tried tying such flies this year for white bass but had little luck. Unless the fly was 'jerked' the fly simply went straight with little to no action. Could you guys set up a large water tank (or swimming pool) and show the fly action in the water.

When it comes right down to it, anyone who puts a hook on a string and puts that string on the end of a stick and puts it in some water is fishing. Fishing is fishing no matter how you wind that string or what kind of stick you use. What ever a person uses, how ever they use it it's still fishing and ain't that what it's all about. Great video, while some may say it isn't "fly fishing," it gave us people who use any thing, with any stick validity.

Very......well.....stated. Brian always says: "We aren't saving babies, we aren't curing cancer, it's not politics and it's not religion. It's just fishing. Nothing important at all." Getting your knickers in a bunch over a lure someone else wants to fish is pretty silly. Thanks for being here and for chiming in.

As long as Blane doesn’t bash worms or egg patterns (which ironically are still natural) then I don’t see a problem with crossing whatever line lies between fly fisherman and spin guys. Great looking flies 👍 If they take as long to tie as they look though I may be a little leery to lose them on logs/branches in the pnw.

Seems to me fly fishing is all about the ability to put something fish want to eat, where the fish expect to find it, and presented in the most natural way. Can't see why I should limit myself to bugs or not use a fly that is more adapted to the fish I am after.
