FLY FISHING in NEW ZEALAND and HOW TO TIE A DRY / DROPPER RIG!!
Спорт
Part 2 of of a cool trip into the wilderness looking for new water and exploring the unknown in the search for big trout. The bad weather that was forecast came in early overnight and makes for a wet and miserable day on the water but it didn't affect the fishing negatively in any way.
I also show you how I set up and tie my Dry / Dropper rig for this style of fishing.

That last brown was savage👌
Flawless as always Alex… loving those “Follow Drone” shots as you hiking along… Also something cool I noticed at 05:57 a fish rises just off your left arm right under the overhang…

It’s always “just one more fish”. I love it. What a great little adventure.
Applause , Applause what a great 1st fish, just a beauty : ))
The browns were wicked.
All of those fish were gorgeous. The colors on those rainbows were amazing. However, that last brown, holy cow. Every once in a while, you come across a brown that is picture perfect, a perfect specimen. That was one for sure. Good thing you pushed up stream for one more fish. Well done. Huge fan of your videos.

You're enraptured with the 'Southside' Alex. Me too! 'Cept, mine is the 'Southside' cocktail . . . its origins are outa the southside of Chicago from the days of Al Capone - apparently it was his favourite. Gonna have a go with your version . . . that'll have me trippin'; no doubt. I'll wager that the brain, in the mornings, will be less foggy with yours. Good work, man.
Awesome video mate Alex. Take a look at 5:56 on the right hand side. Nice fish comes up and eats in the pool along the bank. HEHEH

Was ein Wetter, fischen geht aber immer! Klasse Video👍👍
The colours of the rainbows were stunningly beautiful. Despite the absence of red spots the browns were so gorgeous too. Writing from the antipodes (Spain) I am amazed from those exotic wonderful rivers harboring those big gorgeous powerful non native trout. I enjoyed this footage a lot!
From Scotland!! OMG that brownie !!! You hardly get salmon that size in Scotland any more, never mind the brownies !!!

Man I wish we had fish that size here in Arizona. Great vid as always.
What a great video. So glad I found the channel, Alex. I started fly fishing this year and have got myself a bit obsessed. I drive out to the Hutt or Wainuiomata River from the capital most weeks looking for browns. Hope to make it up to Taupo sometime, and if I do, I'll give you a shout and see if you're available to guide. Until then, thanks for the great videos! All the best.
It’s always nice to finally fish a piece of water you’ve always wanted to and get some nice fish from it. There is no wonder you couldn’t turn the last one, the fins on the thing were massive and looked to be a really healthy fish. Thanks for sharing with old man. I’ll drop you some cash or look at your Patreon soon. It’s just a little tight right now.

Thanks for showing how you tie off of the hook to the dropper....a breakdown of whats on your chest rig would be great aswell please 👍

I know right…?!!!💥
Well, it's warm for November and overcast here in CT. I was out fishing yesterday and the trout are on redds now. So I am not going to fish for the next month or two. Give them a break since trout season is a 365-day-a-year thing now in CT. I still have two deer tags to fill. Right now it's near 60 deg F. I wish I had the money to spend now till the end of march in NZ, its on my Bucket list. In the mean time its NZ trout fishing Porn on KZread!
Look right behind you under the trees at 6 minutes and see the head of a nice fish
minute 6 fish eats in the background. check it out
I really enjoyed this trip you shared. Always beautiful and appreciate as always the quick tips and experiential advice. When you set up your dries for the day could you talk about the hatches you're seeing and what you're using to match it.
