Flushing Coolant on 2009 Toyota Sienna

    For those that don't want to pay for the special funnel, some funnels will fit snug in that radiator opening. If the funnel is too narrow you can increase the diameter by wrapping electrical tape around the funnel shaft to make the funnel fit snug, so it won't leak. When you squeeze the radiator hose, use a piece of rag to plug up the funnel hole. Push it in there with a stick. Release the hose and pull out the funnel. It won't leak and you should be able to pour it out without making a mess.

    That last tip about squeezing the hose when you put the funnel plug in was really good. On a lot of other videos, they don't squeeze the hose and then make a mess.

    You forgot to turn the rear heat to the max, the rear heat core needs to be burped.

    With the radiator cap on and the reservoir cap off blowing into the reservoir got almost all of the fluid out. Just my experience 5 minutes ago.

    @@RBTheMechanic I saw it is snowing hard in Northern Maine, where my family is from. My Dad hated the cold so moved all they way to Connecticut. I finished the migration by moving to Houston.

    I used Prestone coolant 50/50 up to 300,000 miles says for all vehicles in my Toyota Sienna 2006 LE do you think I’ll have a problem for not using the pink coolant? Thanks

    @@signedelacroix7213 I use the regular Prestone concentrate with distilled water. I did my first change at 50,000 miles. Now have 197,000 miles.

    That old coolant fluid looks bad. Does doing it in future few more times get mixed in remove more of the old out?

    Khoa Le - There's a bottle cleaner stuff you can pour through it and DI water to flush it out.

    Bleeding? With this funnel system just let the radiators fan cycle 2-3 times it will bleed it self

    i emptied my 07 sienna and after that it started leaking from somewhere on top of radiator ...so i used stop leak and my coolant look black now which is ok and my leak stopped ......i live in vegas i dont know if ineeded to replace coolant but i did it anyway

    Oh noooo that leak stopper is gonna clog up ur Heatire core and stop the heat from working you should immediately drain it all out of it hasent circulated all in to the system and fix it correctly

    @@valjean2036 yup good luck my friend there is a bleeder valve to the left I forgot engine right on top let the air come out when u put antifreeze ur heat will work better in winter

    I've seen some videos where guys back flush them but like on my 06 Accord I have one of those Motors right there where the heater core is and I would be worried about trying to do that pack flush

    Frank D. Brennan check every thing befor you do all that also the valve some times dosent turn all the way connect to heat ore code make sure u have sum one turn the temp and look how much it turns

    Normal fluid change keep it up to date do it regularly and u don’t need to do the heavy duty pressure flush because ur system will be and will stay clean
