FLUIDMASTER Toilet Cistern Fill Valve 1/2" With Brass Shank - Fitting and Review
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In today's video, we're installing the Fluidmaster toilet cistern 1/2" fill valve, this particular model has a brass shank. After a leak with our toilet we decided to put something that was much better quality and refit the whole thing, the issue was solved and no issues since. We're not professional plumbers but hopefully, this video shows you the quality of this product and how easy it was to fit, thanks.

Thanks chaps, your video was very informative and was a great help to a fellow DIYer like myself. You even picked up on the fact that Fluidmaster only supplied one rubber washer but, like you, I used a second beneath the cistern with the nylon nut. Thanks to you I’m now flushed with success!

Great video. I'm about to do the same job and this was a great help. I've also seen the use of lsx sealant by many diy guys but none of the professionals ? Also, the additional washer at the the bottom is also my first time seeing this. Is it needed or advised to add ? Great video and thanks for sharing.
Brilliant thanks lads

thanks for this video, it is helpful. thanks. One thing that you didn't make clear was which way up you put the washer supplied with the fill valve. A couple of edits would have helped!
I have fitted on of these and until now (5 years later) the inlet valve has started "howling" when filling. I have flushed the valve, replaced the inlet gasket and despite it working quietly for one flush it reverts to its high pitched whine! Any ideas?
You dont need sealant and PTFE tape on the brass shank version. Ive fitted two of these so far, they dont leak when installed and the plastic washer is done up finger tight. Setting the right height for the shut off float is a little fiddly, dont set the shaft as the shortest. Turn the float setting screw anti clockwise to lower the water level and clockwise to raise it.
