FLPHG Powered hang gliding North Wales

Спорт

Saturday 14th Jan 2012 - first flight of the new year for me (and the best flight I've had so far) from Bethel to Newborough and back with Pete Jones. Newborough is one of my favourite places - beautiful beaches and the snowdonia mountains as a back-drop - stunning. The music is from an album called Vaccine by Younger Brother. Hope there arn't any youtube copyright issues because it goes well with the flying! Steve

@orihelnr Thanks Erik - hope all is well with you and you're getting loads of flying in too. The weather here in the UK has been too windy for flying for such a long time so it was great to finally get out in some nice weather last weekend and have some fun! All the best, Steve

Just joking Dave. Looks gorgeous, and agreed, music better than two stroke. Landing looked hot, stayed on your feet thou!

@arenalife Thanks Glyn - hope you get a day in soon. Windspeed averaged around 10mph - bit windier higher up and along the beach, but a bit calmer back in land and low down. We were up and down a lot so always adjusting the throttle accordingly. I'm on the middle hangpoint hole - easy to take off/land and cruises at around 26-27mph airspeed comfortably (according to my flight trace), might try it forward at some point. Pete had his camera too so looking forward to his film of the flight!

@TheRidgehog Thanks John, Saturdays flight was fantastic - Newborough is a place I've always loved visiting so it was a real privilege to fly over there - looked even better from the air! Great start to 2012. Shame flight 2 of 2012 wasn't so good (throttle temporarily stuck open, snapped kick start rope on an practice outlanding and exhaust manifold bolt came undone!). Got back to the field in one piece but very noisily - I'll post the vid of that later this week) cheers, Steve

@lazarou123 PHIL COLLINS!!! You cheeky sod mark. Thought it would make a change from the usual radne raket two stroke engine soundtrack!

Awesome Steve, one of the best flphg vids on here. I had the wing on the car on Sat but it closed in and blew out. What windspeed were you flying in? What throttle level did you need in the cruise? What hangpoint hole are you on? Is Pete posting a vid too? What's the price of fish? haha. Nice one.
