People need to understand how high the stakes are. Not only for Conor, the UFC or MMA. But for the other side. If Floyd falters, not only will he have lost his undefeated status, he will have tarnished his legacy, and boxing would loose its legitmacy as the primary combat sport. If a novice boxer beats Floyd. Well then thats the final nail in the coffin. Mayweather is fighting for num 50 hes fighting for his legacy and hes fighting for the survival of the sport of boxing. Conor has the chance to uproot all of it with one lucky punch. This is going to be epic.

There's always a bias with these types of events. You have fans from both sports spewing who they think is going to win, and some people are quite uneducated in terms of both sports. Why don't we spit facts and then see who'll be the winner? Here is my analysis on the upcoming fight. 1. *Money Grab* This is a win/win for both fighters. 100 million? Sign me up. I'd fight both of them and take a dive for that kind of money. Conor's net worth will go up substantially compared to his MMA career. He'll be earning 75 million, while Floyd will be earning 100 million. 2. *Skill* Floyd wins. Please be honest with yourself and acknowledge that Floyd has been training as a boxer since he was a kid. This guy is an elite boxer who has fought many great names. He's been renowned as the best defensive boxer ever. No one has ever seen a guy get punched less often as Floyd. He's also extremely proficient in counter-punch tactics. Conor, on the other hand, does know how to box, but amateurishly. He has the skill-set available to him as an MMA fighter, but I wouldn't say that it is as refined as Floyd's. He is an effective counter-puncher from the fights I've witnessed, but he is more of a jack of all trades type of guy. Good, but not great. Some would like to argue that since Conor is a southpaw, he'd give Floyd trouble. I strongly predict that this will not be the case. Watch (Mayweather vs Judah) 3. *Gloves* Floyd wins. The agreed upon glove size for the fight will be 10 oz. A size Conor will have to adjust to. It'll be much harder for him to land as many punches on Floyd as he would with the favored 4 oz. to 6 oz. gloves in the MMA. Bigger gloves are heavier and easier to guard yourself with. This'll only strengthen Floyd's defensive capabilities to block/deflect punches. And, Floyd is no stranger to the 10 oz. gloves. 4. *Cardio/Conditioning* Floyd wins. 12 rounds with 3 minutes each is a different kind of beast when compared to MMA's 5 minute 5 round fights. Floyd has done this countless times and has looked solid and unscathed even on the last round. Some may argue that there is more going on in those five minute rounds like grappling, submissions, kicks, takedowns, and more. But, I've only seen Conor in one 5 round bout, and he barely survived against Diaz. How is he going to fair against 12 rounds of 3 mins? 5. *Size and Reach* Conor wins. Conor is freakin' huge compared to Floyd. Weighing in at 154 lbs (70 kg), They allowed Conor to stay at his current weight. Floyd will have to move up to light middleweight to tango with Conor. Conor also has a reach advantage of 74" compared to Floyd's 72". 6. *Who has more to lose?* Floyd has way more to lose than Conor. Imagine a non-traditional fighter coming into your sport and kicking your ass, with no professional boxing record. Not only will he lose a lot of fans, but his pride will be scarred indefinitely. He has his pride at stake, bragging rights, a fighting record and his credibility. Conor has more to win even if he loses. He will have a net worth increase, more fans because of his courage to even fight someone like Floyd, and he'll open more doors for his MMA colleagues to make more dough. No one really cares if Conor loses, he lost 3 times already. If Floyd beats him, they'll be like: "Well, we knew that anyway." Floyd has never lost and the pressure will be tremendous for him. 7. *Winner* With these facts, I strongly believe that Floyd will win. He's the superior boxer with an extensive boxing record in 5 divisions. He has fought larger opponents before (Mayweather vs Canelo). I do not doubt his adaptability in this situation. However, he will not knock Conor out, but will instead outbox him the whole 12 rounds. Winning by unanimous decision. At the quickest, it may even be a stoppage from McGregor's corner in the mid-rounds. Conor's best bet, in my opinion, would be to clip Floyd in the early rounds. He has to hurt him bad, and try to corner him. He'll have to fight Floyd similarly like Maidana (despite the dirty punching). However, Floyd has been known to be pretty elusive when cornered. You don't go the distance with a guy like Floyd. If you give him time to figure you out, it's over before it started. (Mayweather vs Guerrero) Also, Conor does have an age advantage over Floyd being 28. I'm not sure how age has been treating Floyd since his last fight, a couple of years ago, but he seems to move well for a guy in his 40's. All in all, I think that fans from both sports will actually come together to appreciate the hardships of these two sports. We acknowledge that if Floyd went into an Octagon, Conor would destroy him. Gonna be funny coming back to these comments whoever wins the fight. The only way this isn't a win win for Conor is if he gets knocked out which I highly doubt is gonna happen. But... this is a boxing match. Naturally Floyd has the advantage, he's the best defensive fighter on the planet, and I can't see Conor landing many hits... ... I have much respect for Conner and Light's Out James Toney for going into another fighting sport to try and entertain us fans because they are risking their lives in doing so. Listen people, I wouldn't really call myself a fan for Mayweather or McGregor, BUT as far as I know, Floyds record says it all. He has boxed plenty of more experienced fighters in the world than McGregor and came out victorious. Now if it were Floyd going into Mcgregors sport and doing MMA that's out of the question who'd win. Conor does have amazing ground game. He took down black belt Diego Brandao and passed his guard with ease. Dominated Max Holloway and controlled him on the ground. Instantly passed Dennis Sivers guard and pounded him out. Dominated Eddie Alvarez in the clinch. Instantly swept Nate Diaz when they hit the mat (he was gassed when he got subbed in the 2nd round. And he gave Dave Hill his 1st submission loss for the Cage Warriors FW champ. Only casual noobs think Conor's ground game sucks. He is elite.

Yall dumb, if mcgregor loses obviously its because he can't match mayweathers boxing speed because he is not a boxer.. In a octagon fight mayweather would stand no chance at all..

nobushi raider yeah that's in MMA though where a good striker can whoop a grapplers ass or a good grappler can whoop a strikers ass or better if you're good at both. An amateur boxer cannot out box a world class boxer though.
