Jane Pauley and Floyd Kalber - who knew that Pauley and Kalber would reunite at the NBC network news for the Today Show. That is, after anchoring together at WMAQ before Pauley left for NBC

Reportedly, they barely got along. Kalber had a misogynist streak that took years to wear off.

I grew up watching him! Awesome anchor. RIP Floyd!!

I remember as a kid watching him on Huntley and Brinkley. He was at WMAQ then and would do the news from Chicago especially newsbreaks and bulletins for NBC. Chicago, you were more than fortunate to have this man to present the news to you. I liked him as a kid because he came across so fatherly over the TV. Sure we had "Uncle Walter" at CBS but there was Floyd Kahlber at NBC back in those days. RIP Floyd!

They'll never be another legendary broadcaster than The Big Tuna. RIP Floyd Kalber and Godspeed.
