flowsense error Lg Dryer D80, D90 & D95 Error

LG dryers will display a Flowsense error D80, D90 or D95 error message if there is a problem with the dryer vent. It is a brilliant that they do this as it helps prevent a dryer fire, but can be a pain to resolve.

I was getting a d80 code with 4 bars on the display panel sense flow icon. Ended up being a dryer sheet stuck inside the dryer at the front intake vent where the lint filter is located. I have the dryer vent cleaned professionally every two years so I didn't think that dryer vent line was the problem. In your video it was said that 99.9% of the time it is a blockage in the vent system. Sure was, a damn dryer sheet that unless I reach down inside the dryer to check I would have never found the problem! Thank You! Your video was very helpful!

These troubleshooters all stress checking the duct and outside vent, which you absolutely should do. But in my case, the clog was inside the dryer. I dug around inside the dryer vent hole and pulled out a clump of straw and dryer lint.. presumably an animal (probably a bird as I’m on second floor) had built a nest. Error code d95 is now gone.

Tried all the steps. No blocked vents anywhere including inside the dryer. Proper vent connections behind the dryer. We have DLEY1901KE. Pretty sure it may be the high level thermostat. Where would that be located on this machine?

I disconnect the flexible hose from the dryer and runed the test, the flow sensor still shows up with d 80 code, this should eliminate the duct issue, should be the issue of the dryer, right?

Try turning the power off the the dryer either at the breaker or by removing the plug, leave it for 15 mins

Yes, that would eliminate the vent, take the front cover off and check the heating element, the sensor is on there and if it's not connected to the drum it throws the same code

Quick question. I keep getting a d80 error message on my dryer. I checked all vents, air flow to the outside is good, vents are cleaned, duct from the dryer to wall is also all cleaned out. I also cleaned out the vents inside the dryer, made sure there were no eblow curves or kinks in the duct, moved it away from the wall. I ran another diagnostic test on it, it failed, saying the flow sense was blocked with another d80 message. We are using a foil duct, ( we aren't supposed to, but it's all we have at the moment) and the duct going outside runs at an elbow curve near the dryer and then it straightens out under the house. We then removed the foil duct from the back of the dryer, did another diagnostic check, and it came up with another d80 message. .....were do I go from here?

I am curioius the verdict in your case? Did you ever solve your issue? I have a LG dryer in a house I just moved into and it has the flow sense icon continually showing, but I am convinced it's not the duct work. I have 2' flexible hose that is quite clean and making 2 45's to a straight 15' pipe up through the roof. I am in the midst of researching my issue but the only thing I keep coming across is that the vent is most likely the cause. I don't think so in my case. I just replaced the 2 dollar relay on the control board that kicks the motor on, which activates a centrifugal switch to allow 240 volt to the heater. My feeling is that a sensor could be bad, but have had no luck finding more about it.

@@CPTech92 , I actually had to pay a technician to come out and service my dryer. Turns out the vent bends a certain way under my house and there was a build up stuck in the curve of the pipe, blocking air flow. He took the dryer apart and checked the inside to make sure there wasn't any lint or build up stuck to anything there. There wasn't. So, it actually was a vent issue for me 😑 even though I could feel air pulling through the vents, the sensors on the dryer are pretty sensitive, (according to the tech) and when there is a buildup, they will pick up on it. We ended up having to unscrew and take off one our vent caps and got all the lint out. We keep the cap off now and put a screen there to catch the lint. We haven't had an error message since. I hope you get the problem worked out!
