I wanted to get this video out before the Canadian tulip festival ended and luckily I seem to be just in time.
Context:
The Netherlands annually sends tulips to Canada for the Canadian tulip festival. The Netherlands does this to express their gratitude for Canada since they liberated them during ww2. The Netherlands has sent tulips for a long time now. The first times were in 1941-1943 and since the war ended have they been sending tulips every year.In 1953,after Ottawa became famous for its tulips,was the first tulip festival held.And of course has the Netherlands continued to send around 20k tulips each year.(I wrote this part wrong before but I fixed it-sorry!)
I find this so cute ngl. I wish more countries would do things like this. Or maybe they do, idk

Mhm, 10 000 from the royal family and another 10 000 from the public! Dutch breeders even made a special tulip that resembled the Canadian called the "Canada 150 tulip" for Canada's 150 anniversary. And apparently they also once gifted 1.1 million tulips(1 tulip for each Canadian personnel) on the 75th anniversary of the Dutch being liberated
