My Kok deflates when stressed too
We never feed our Flowerhorn live food, just pellets and freeze dried foods. He’s doing fine and growing like crazy.

Thanks for that information, I’m looking to purchase my 1st. FlowerHorn.
Great video! I have a female red dragon and I feed mine mostly floating cichlid pellets and freeze dried krill. I want to start feeding live, but I’m honestly not sure what kind of fish I want to feed here. I definitely don’t wanna feed her goldfish

hikari frozen foods defnitely but most of all i recommend live feeder fish that you have kept healthy for a month, they are the absolute best for flowerhornfish!Sorry for the late reply as i have been on vacation, but i hope this helps! -Gus
Wonderful information.....We should feed our flower horn just twice a day and that's good for their health rather feeding 3 to 4 times a day :)
I have a flower horn thai silk I bought it since april 2017 and know he is still desame
Looks like mine but mine has tons of pearls, almost looks like a thai silk but some red towards front and has a flower line down body but it's faded as he's grown and pearls have taken over to point the fish looks blue/platinum
Luv it

Awesome!!! Any update?
I’ve heard that convicts, arowanas, and jewel cichlids do well with them. Especially convicts since convicts can be mental as well.
If you have a juvenile, at what age should it be transferred to a 75+ gallon tank? I have an empty 40 gallon breeder, and I am interested into getting one.
Super fish
can you do a video about their breeding? . i'm planning to investe in it cause they're quiet expensive in here
Can FH be house with Airowana? Would there be any fight if they're almost same size?
Can they live in tap water or need special additives?
You can keep some other fish with flower horns if your tank is at least 75 gallons so
My flowerhorns' cok is MASSIVE compared to his body, but his color is super lack luster, almost pale. No tank mates, 75 gallon+.... Mix of food - pellets, baby guppies, dried worms, live wax worms. His top, bottom and tale fins are super long. He appears pale but behaves super interested in me and his tank. What gives with his colors? Thanks Gus!
Nice KOK!!
I’ve been kind of thing about getting one myself. I’m glad I watch your video because I didn’t know if they need to be alone or not. I definitely didn’t know they needed next to nothing in there tank. I know they have a great personality ! Thanks for the info
A big kok isn't everything!

Hi, I currently have the Aquaclear 70 power filter for my 55 gallon tank. What should be the turnover rate ?

DarterGaming late replying you might know by now they don't start having one until about four inchs and that's if it's a male females can get them usually not. I've seen males that have very small ones.

HI Gus.... excellent video. This fellow is really stunning! =D I have a few little fish in Humphrey's tank at all times. So far he hasn't caught one yet. I also have a Giant Raphael catfish in with him. He's nocturnal and only comes out at night with Humphrey is sleeping. Then he cleans up the mess. =D

Nice video with great information. I subscribed for future videos so keep them coming.

*actual question* Is that "horn" entirely filled with air or is it solid? If it's filled with air, does it inflate when you puncture a hole in it with a pushpin? Because I have the strange need to do that

You need a stronger filter! Lol I had the same issue, I was using a 100 gallon HOB filter....to no avail. A strong external canister filter will get the job done👍

Deon 0026 If you start using feeders, avoid gold fish and rosy minnows. They prevent fish from adsorbing vitamins properly. Also mealworms and super worms are bad for young fish if fed to often, because their exoskeletons can cause a blockage and they are high in fat.
@Deon0026yickadee

It can make them sick the one I've got it don't pay any part of fish cuz it know they aren't suppose to they say they're specail fish but I know my real God it better so it would on make sense y she won't eat

+Raphael Fish That sentence doesn't make sense...but it's because you're supposed to keep feeder fish healthy for a month before feeding.
How long can a Flowerhorn live in a 50 gallon tank?
@myaquariuminfo
6 жыл бұрын
2yeara then it will need a 75 Sorry for the late reply, (only able to do weekly replies due to work this month)
Is that a crayfish I see in that tank?
@myaquariuminfo
7 жыл бұрын
+JR Galore Yes, good eye! I needed something to help clean the tank in between siphoning, so I placed a pleco and a Cray in there. But he tore all the plecos fins ): The crayfish hides in the rocks, and comes out to scavenge left overs at night. Sometimes he catches the feeder fish:0

They do not need a 75 gallon. They are perfectly fine in a 45 or a 55. If they are by themselves they be just fine in a smaller tank...

Some have too huge of a KOK lol.. lord I can't even talk about it. Why the hell did whoever name it a KOK? how about head bump or hump or fish afro? I like them but not when its so big it looks like a 70s afro. They are cool though I never heard of these till like 4 months ago.
How does the Crayfish do with Flowerhorn?
@myaquariuminfo
6 жыл бұрын
Not good. Crayfish will get eaten. Can survive (possibly) with 100 coverage at the bottom ( only spaces to crawl through and hide) but that's no life for a pet..

+Raphael Fish I don't trust online blogs. Too much made up stuff. I only rely on factual Info from reliable sources. I recommend "the aquarium encyclopedia" by Gina Sandford . Because a dry food only diet is really bad for fish. And the organs of fish don't need "help" digesting fish?... that's what they've eaten for millions of years.
