How has no one addressed the presence of the mullet? Bonus points for breaking that out! Now, what really is the purpose of flower girls and, let's face it, ring bearers? 🤗💚

Flower Girl you mean ? The tradition can be trace back to Roman time where young virgins who carried a sheaf of wheat during the wedding ceremony and was revived during the Renaissance where flower girls carried strands of garlic based on the belief that garlic repelled evil spirits and bad luck. However during the Elizabethan Era (English) it was replaced by flower which were scattered from the bride's home to the church. The current modern tradition date back to Victorian Era (British), similar to how White Wedding dress was popularized by Queen Victoria, so was the Flower Girl. It's mostly royal tradition. Symbolism : Some couples want a flower girl in the wedding party to enhance the aisle with flower petals. She symbolically leads the bride forward, from childhood to adulthood and from innocence to her roles of wife and mother. The flower girl follows the maid of honor, and may carry wrapped candies, confetti, a single bloom, a ball of flowers, or bubbles instead of flower petals. The flower girl may symbolize the bride as a child in her innocence, as she is typically a young girl dressed similarly to the bride. She may also symbolize wishes for fertility for the couple and the forming of their new family

If you asked about the Ring Bearer, then the tradition of the Ring Bearer actually came from the Royal Wedding (again, mostly British Royal Wedding), a royal attendant will bring the wedding ring to the royal couple through the aisle. Originally, performed by a special page boy who were train to act as a wedding attendant. Nowadays, it may symbolized the blessing of the family or if the couple had a child, the child gave his blessing as Ring Bearer symbolically carried the ring and give it to the couple similar to coin bearer wedding tradition or wedding arrhae from Spanish-speaking countries. But in most modern wedding, Ring Bearer is there to mostly just to match with the flower girl.
