    Thank you Jodi. We appreciate you doing thus. We have no LNS here so this helps us to start stitching on fabric other than white all the time.

    Great video! Can you do the same process with Rit dye? Thanks for sharing!

    Cathy Coughenour you sure can!! I do it with Rit all the time. I just make sure to dilute the dye to the desired color before pouring it in. I also don’t cover the fabric all the way because the dye can be very aggressive as far as spreading. One thing you can do to test the color is put a drop onto a white plate, that’s a good indication of what the true color is before you pour it in.

    Do you set the Rit color in the oven the same as the tea dye?

  • @jodifavish7474

    Tracie Huff I have baked rit dyed pieces and I’ve also dyed without baking. Rit is very potent so I often don’t feel the color needs baked but it’s never a bad idea to set it in. Tea has a tendency to fade if it’s not baked but rit probably won’t do that.

    Very helpful video Jodi, but I have a question, if I want to add a bit of splotches of color , how would I go about that. Any advice is appreciated. New sub, I am going to enjoy going back on your old videos. Thanks for sharing

    Liz Salas same process as I used in the video! It just came out a different variation of the tea color because my base wasn’t white. Cool to experiment with!

    Marty Fragale I ordered them all on amazon. I ordered two different brands but I’ve found “caydo” to be the best. You can get packs of 8 or 6 depending on what they have available!

    Thank you so much for showing your method, it now feels less intimidating to me. Does the hot tea and then baking the fabric change the count of the fabric or shrink the overall size?

  • @jodifavish7474

    @jodifavish7474

    Yes it definitely shrinks!! Usually the 14 ct is closer to a 16ct by the time it is done. Most dyers mention this on their sites also, I just don’t think there’s a way around it other than starting with a larger size than what you want to finish with.
