I stitched the same Crewl kit with the bricks in 1978. The orange flowers were made with "turkey loop" stitches. I still have mine too but not framed. So many memories, I bet your Mom just loved it.😊

The 14 count fabric with the decoys on it was called hopscotch. I stitched on it myself in the 80s, i made pillows with a rooster and a hen on them. Just wanted to refresh your memory on that, 😂

Always so happy to see a new post from you come up on my KZread open page! I loved seeing your oldies. I had a cross stitch shop in the 80’s so I am familiar with the fabrics and designs from back then. Your duck decoys for your brother we’re done on a fabric called hopscotch. I loved Annie’s toys and how beautiful she is. I will be 73 this year also. I’m just getting back to cross stitch after 30 years and can’t see the fine linens anymore even with a top of the line magnifier so I’m working on 14, 11 and 7 count fabrics. They are beautiful non the less. I also did crewel embroidery. A lot of my old needlework I am not taking out of frames and making into quilts. Sorry about this book I’m writing, just want to share. Wow, that piece for your mom is incredible. Chenille is my favorite accessory for my pillows. And Yay for Chester. It looks beautiful. Ha Ha Ha I am cracking up about the dog treats. Quite good. To the dog. So funny. Writing comments for floss tubes is easy but doing a Zoom would make me quite shy. I would however be willing to try it in a group of 10.

My One Dog I had - Chewy - Female German Shepherd - she was a Chewer - so I gave her a old pair of my Shoes and a old pair of Socks and she chewed on those - played with them - her and Peanut my Boston Terrier played Tug Of War with the Shoes and the Socks. I think your Zoom call idea is wonderful. I admire all of you who do a Floss Tube, but know that's just not for me. So to be able to get to know you "in person" as it were and you to know us would be fun. Timing could be tricky as I'm in the mountain time zone and am still working part time, most often 10 - 2. I'll keep my eyes and ears open for your ideas in the future!

Hi Sarah. The embroidery piece you did for your mother is beautiful, especially with the cat. You reminded me of a cat I stitched for my mother which came back to me after she passed. I have it on my wall now and love it. She was a cat lover and I am too. I enjoyed hearing your story about your English paper piecing. I also sew and quilt but have never done any paper piecing. I think you have inspired me to try it!!

Again, such a wonderful, meaningful time spent with you! I so enjoyed our time together as I stitched Summer by Cross Eyed Cricket! I would so love to do a zoom with you and other stitchers! My sisters and I zoom every three weeks and it feels almost like being together!! They aren’t cross stitchers 🙁. I’m retired, so anytime is good, although I think the afternoon would be best for me as I get my chores and errands done in the morning! I’m an avid cross stitcher for over 60 years and feel the same as you about this precious craft we share! Think you have a wonderful idea and I hope it works out well! You and I are a lot alike. I also had 3 husbands and the last was since by Go. He passed away a year and a half in February. He was a fan of my stitching and bought me a lap stand and it arrived a month later. I’m also very emotional

You might get zoom ideas from Beth the Steadfast Stitcher here on FlossTube. I haven't participated because the link is on Facebook which I don't use but she moderates a 24 hour of cross stitch via zoom quite frequently. She's delightful to watch but has waaaaaay too many WIPS for me! She did a 60 for 60 last year. Very fun!

Great video! what an emotional roller coaster - thank you for sharing your technology foibles and making me laugh, and your loved ones lost, and sharing a tear. Then laughing again about needing a guided meditation. You got a lot of stitching done, great progress. I would ADORE a zoom stitch together, I'm not able to travel to distant retreats and haven't found anything near me, nor any clubs or stitch groups. Sarah, I love your Zoom idea! Depending on day & time I hope to join you on one. I agree when you get too many people & they're talking it can get glitchy to hear. I do one with my family every Sunday and when everyone tries to talk it gets a little crazy. I'm so bummed that I missed you at the stitching meet-up! My daughter had a swim meet and those go from 6:30am until about 3 or 4 in the afternoon! And this Saturday it was 102 outside! So much sweating happened! But fun to watch her swim! I dont have a June birthday but I do have one in July (13th). I want to join your stitch along! I started Mary Florence Dickinson awhile back but I need some motivation to focus & get it complete!
