KZread put your video in my line of sight today. I am sorry for your loss. You were very inspiring when you said the memory of what your father thought about your cross stitch helped you decide to keep filming. I appreciate you sharing that. I love full coverage stitching, and I always think it's cool when a stitcher shares their techniques. It's fun to see all the differences in how we all stitch. I hope you continue to heal from your loss. God bless you.

What a lovely message! Thank you for the encouragement. I appreciate it very much. I also enjoy hearing everyone else’s stitching stories, so I’m happy that I inspired you. It’s nice to hear that you also do full coverage. So fun! Thank you for watching and for being the blessing I needed today. 🩷 Happy stitching!

First let me say how sorry I am for your loss. It is so difficult to lose a parent but it’s equally difficult to see them sick and in pain. I hope your mother is doing okay as well as your family. Very informative video. I’m going to be starting my first full coverage soon, so all the info I can get is helpful. Thank you for explaining the full cross stitch and the half cross stitch (I think you called it a tent stitch). I will do a sample of the stitches to see what I’m most comfortable with and what would work best for my piece. Oh and I must say, your Michael Jackson is amazing! It certainly does look like a photo. Beautiful job.

Thank you for your kind words. We’re all doing okay. Not great, but okay. I’m so glad you got a lot of info from the video. I hope it helped you get more comfortable with trying full coverage. I appreciate the compliment about MJ. Definitely a labor of love! Thank you for watching, and let me know how your stitching goes and if you have any questions for me. I have a playlist of tutorials, too, if you need them. Happy stitching! ☺️🪡

oh carla, i'm so sorry for your loss. may perpetual light shine on him. your MJ is wildly impressive! i loved this video. i started with a full coverage piece as one of my very first projects when i started stitching and i prefer working on them! the counting is easier for my brain, somehow. to keep track of all of the colors, i write the symbols on my paper floss drops just to remind myself, and then i replace the floss drop tag with an unmarked one when i'm finished with my project. wishing you luck and enjoyment for your lincoln piece. can't wait to see the progress!

Thank you. I love the image of “perpetual light” shining on him. That’s very comforting, thank you. Thank you for the compliment. I enjoyed working on my MJ piece. Putting the symbols on your drops is a great idea! I don’t know if it would make much difference with my 300 colors 😳, but I may do that with my HAED whenever I start it. Happy stitching! ☺️🩷🪡

Thank you so much for the video. It was suggested to me by KZread as I’d been searching for tips on how to get started on a full coverage design. I learned a lot and hope to start soon although I’m still dithering on fabric. I’m so sorry for the loss of your dear father. I hope your stitching brings you comfort at a very sad time. Margaret

I'm sorry about your Dad. Just be kind to yourself while you deal with the loss. I'm doing two full coverages but they're in time out while I work on a couple of other items. But I want to get back to them. I do park but I'm not too fond of it. At least with full coverage, they use so much close shading that you can make a mistake and no one will ever know.

Thank you so much for your kind words. They help. ☺️ Yes, that’s one of the beauties of full coverage - mistakes are easier to hide or fudge. I can tell you that I have several mistakes in my Michael Jackson piece, but no one will know. I’m restarting the two I’m currently working on. Thankfully I hadn’t gotten far on either one. I feel better about them now. Happy stitching on your current pieces and for when you’re ready to get out your full coverage ones again! 😁🪡

Uh. WOW! Thx so much for this explanation and’s demo of full coverage. I’d love to do a full coverage and though I think I saw that MJ piece awhile back, my mouth dropped when I saw it this time. No one would believe that’s stitched. It looks just like a photo for sure! And did I see some State Fair ribbons attached to that piece? Well deserved. I’d like to see a demo of someone starting a piece from the top. I was taught from the center and I have no faith in starting from the top. 🤣 I’d say you’re a great teacher. Patience abounding. Thx for all the time it took you to do this video. Lastly, I’m so sorry for your loss. Sounds like you were very close to your Father and learned so much from him. I hope those good memories will carry you through all the painful times and that knot in your stomach will disappear quickly.❤️

Thank you very much! Yes, you did see ribbons. I won 1st place and Best of Show at the county fair and 2nd place at the state fair. I have started in the middle on some projects, but I never start in the middle on a full coverage. That would be a nightmare to try to keep track of with multiple pages in a pattern (at least for me.) I always start at the top left. The safest way to do that is to add 3 inches to each side. If you do happen to miscount (which I actually did with the MJ piece), the 3 inches should be enough cushion to keep you from running out of fabric. Mine got to within an inch or so on one side 😱, but my framer didn’t even blink. Good professional framers don’t need that much extra fabric to work with while framing - it just makes it easier when they do. Maybe I can work on my Lincoln piece when I do my next “stitch with me” video. Thank you for the lovely comments about my dad. It will take a while to adjust, but it will be okay. 🩷
