Our typical Christmas Day starts at my youngest daughter's home about 8 am. We have brunch and watch my grandkids open their gifts. Then about 1 pm my siblings, children, nieces, nephews and grandchildren gather at my Mom's house for dinner and a gift exchange. So thankful to have 4 generations celebrating Christmas together.

Thank you for sharing your projects with us! I had stopped cross stitching because I didn't want to frame and hang anymore pieces on the wall. Seeing all of your finishes has inspired me to start stitching again --I love being able to switch things seasonally! Christmas Day? Our Christmas day changed a few years ago. We live seven hours away from all of our families. So normally we traveled home for Christmas. However, three years ago our cat became ill and we had to medicate him twice a day. He was so good tempered taking the medication from us-that we hated to leave and have someone else come in any maybe stress him trying to medicate him. So, for the past three years, it was my husband and I, along with our kitties! We started going to the Star Wars movie and then out for Chinese food as our special day. (Of course presents and kitty toys were opened in the morning.) Sadly, we had to put that 17 year old kitty to sleep November 30. So, neither of us was in the mood to travel home for the holidays. So, we shared kitty presents with our two remaining girls and then still went to the movie and dinner. (We have no children--so we have become those crazy cat people!!!)

This is our first year being empty nesters, so it was so good to have our boys home with us again. Our Christmas is usually pretty low-key. We start with Overnight French Toast going in the oven once everyone is awake. (No more getting woken up at 4 AM by little boys anxious to see what Santa brought them! Our boys are 19 and 21 now.) Then open presents while the French Toast cooks. The rest of the day is pretty relaxing, watching Christmas movies, checking out our presents, cooking of course, which again is low key. Ham, scalloped potatoes, veggies, etc. For me, of course, it includes knitting or stitching! Hope you both had a lovely Christmas!

Hi Priscilla and Chelsea....I have never done cross stitch before but am so inspired by you I want to try. Priscilla your finishing just takes all the projects over the top. Amazing. I love your "keep it simple" attitude about the process and tools. I am totally amazed at how much you two accomplish. Christmas traditions in our house all include too much food, drink and family...in a good way.

Merry Christmas! Our usual Christmas consists of driving all over the state of IL. We start at home and open gifts with my children, then drive to my parent's house and open with my family, quick lunch, and then another drive to the in-laws to open even more gifts. We usually spend a few days there and then back home. By that time my kids have forgotten what they got here!

In the past my husband has cooked many a Christmas goose, and chestnut stuffing. The family brings sides and holiday salads, I make eggnog pie and he would also make plum pudding which we would flame. Very festive! We printed decorative menus listing the traditional dishes the aunts and grandma's would bring. We get them out each year and remember.

My typical Christmas day with older kids is pretty quiet: My two boys (16 & 20) still wake us up early to get our stockings first, then open presents. Then we spend the rest of our day lounging around and eating a lot. The boys usually disappear to their computers for gaming or whatever. My husband is the cook so we have something really delicious for dinner. This episode really made me laugh so much with the crashing sounds and Nala biting stuff! My typical Christmas Day is waking up early with the kids and watching their excitement as they open all of their gifts. Then spending the next few hours opening up toy packages (the worst). We lazy around, play with the new toys, etc. and then realize we need to get going, rush around getting food cooked, getting ourselves ready, etc and drive to my Mom’s house where we eat a Christmas dinner and open gifts to each other. Just spend time with each other...eat too much homemade pie made by my sister! I cry every Christmas night as I fall asleep because it is over. I have since I was a kid. Love Christmas!

My typical Christmas day has been changing now that both kids are older. I come from a big extended family I'm the second oldest (34 first cousins on my mother's side). Christmas day was generally up at 6am to put in in the Turkey, ham, etc. and then non-stop stockings, presents, food, more presents, family arriving at any time during the day, more food, more family, more presents until the house cleared out about 8pm and I cleaned up. Yep 12-14 hour day full of fun, love, teasing and a billion dishes. Now that my daughter and her family live out of state and my son is older; they do the alternating holiday thing and I've had a couple of zero stress Christmases. The first one the hubs and I spent at Longmire Mt. Rainier lodge which was totally decked out for the holiday, someone else cooked and cleaned -- we went snow-shoeing. I missed spending time with family, but it was great just the same. This year we had a small dinner last night with close family only, and tomorrow the hubs and I are heading to our own little slice of heaven in central Oregon where Christmas day will include: sleeping in, leisurely breakfast, snow, warm crackling fire, may or may not dine in town, maybe a nap; staring at the beautiful scenery; and a lot of stitching. :-)

Our typical Christmas normally consists of me waking up early to get Christmas brunch together and then feeding everyone once they get here. Then we get back and finish up preparations for Christmas dinner and we eat and laugh and just have a really good time with family that comes into town. Merry Christmas! What I usually do is put on my Christmas Carols on the radio as I cook for the family to come over and enjoy. We have a wonderful dinner, play games, put on a Christmas movie and then open presents. Love our family time together.

My Christmas was spent with my sister, brother, grandkids and great grands. To me the best gift is time. Making memories. How generous of The Inspired Needle to gift this series. They are the best ladies and they come to Celebrations in N.H. Have a wonderful Christmas.

I really love both of you so much! Merry Christmas to your whole family...plus dogs and chickens! Typical Christmas day...used to be presents and cooking...this year it will be pretty quiet... I will be counting my blessings...and stitching...and letting the dogs in and out non-stop like always!

Merry Christmas! Our typical Christmas Day is sleeping in and going over to my parent’s house to open gifts. Our family has also now embraced fishing, which I think will now be a new tradition for us. I hope you guys have a great holiday!

Our grown sons and their families come over at noon and have Christmas with us. We have dinner and let the grandkids open their gifts from us. This year we also will go visit my mother in law in the assisted living facility where she is going through physical therapy rehab. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Thanks for all the smiles you bring with your videos. I love seeing them each week.

This year my Christmas day consists of getting together with my mom and dad and aunt and having dinner, opening gifts. Two things we must have are a cheese ball and bowl of mixed nuts...it wouldn't be Christmas without these two items!! Also, listening to some wonderful Christmas music...and a lot of conversation...

Christmas has changed since my husband died (this will be our fourth without him). We used to start with breakfast: grapefruit and a tea ring that I made every year since I was a teen (calories removed, of course). Then we would read the Christmas story from the Bible. Next would come opening gifts. Dinner would be around 4:00 PM and would consist of most of the same foods we enjoyed at Thanksgiving. Things are much more fluid these days. My one daughter who still lives with me and I are opting for a sensible breakfast this year consisting of a flavored oatmeal of some kind. We will still read the Christmas story and open gifts. Mid-afternoon we will head to my other daughter's house to celebrate with her, my son-in-law, and almost two year old granddaughter. I'm taking ham, bread, sweet potatoes, and a pie. Grace will provide the rest. I'm so looking forward to seeing my granddaughter's reaction to everything! Next year things will change again as I will have a new grandbaby! Merry Christmas to both of you!

Christmas day for us starts at Midnight Mass. We usually get home around 2am, wake up around 10a.m(all our children are adults, and the only grandbaby is just 4 months old) and like your sons, my son has to have Paula Dean's hashbrown casserole. We open gifts and then I spend more time in the kitchen to prepare the main meal. We open Christmas crackers which is a British tradition, though we are many generations removed from England, we have adopted this tradition. My son plays carols on the piano after eating. After all that we are ready for a game of Dutch Blitz, Banana Grams or just siting around in a food coma. It is an exhausting day in the kitchen and I am always looking for ways to simplify but have yet to be successful at it! As much as I love Christmas I look forward to the quiet evening when I can start a new cross-stitch with a cup of tea and one of the old movies I missed during the season.

Our Christmas Day consists of me hosting a big dinner. Singing and dancing in the kitchen while cleaning up. Then it's game on. I have a lot of very competitive family members so games can get loud but it's always a ton of fun and laughs. My stomach hurts by the end of the night from laughing. Merry Christmas to you both!

We're stationed in Hawaii right now. So its just my husband, myself and our 3 small kiddos. This usually means its pretty laid back. We wait until the kids wake up, open presents, and cook cinnamon rolls while we put toys and things together. The kids spend the day playing with their new things while a roast cooks all day. Mele Kalikimaka to the both of you!

Love your laughter! I’ve been cutting and chopping food prep all day and just sat to relax, you made me smile! My house will be full tomorrow with 6 Grands and 6 adults some pets. We usually play outside (if we have snow and it’s not too cold) sledding or snowshoes. Merry Christmas! Thanks for all you do!
