Every time you say “mocking basket”, I envision something from Harry Potter like the sorting hat… a spirited bad attitude basket that throws verbal jabs and whines every time you enter the room about lack of progress on it’s contents. 😂❤ Love it! (I have bins that snark at me. ) Thanks for sharing with us! Lori

I am such a monogamous stitcher I am always so impressed watching and seeing all the amazing starts! And I love you call it a “mocking baskets of WIPS” because it would mock me! And I get the pulling teeth with some projects so much! I have had a few that I just couldn’t get into even though I loved them! Just love seeing all you do! Also … I am so ready for fall too! I have had enough of the heat!

I'm just starting to watch your new video but I must say you and all the other floss tubers are gracious enough to invite us into your homes, share a bit of your lives and of course your stitching and quilting. There is no need for negativity. If someone doesn't like your floss tube or anyone else's, how about just turning it off. Most of us love watching you Olivia, along with all the other floss tubers. I take notes because I find each one a stress reliever and a motivator to finish this project or start another. You are great! And I love all your flowers at the beginning of this episode! Now back to watching the Mocking Basket of WIP's!❤

Hello Olivia, you've been inviting me into your home for a number of years and I really appreciate the bravery it took to make some decisions about your wips.🙂 I have a number of them myself, so your video has given me some spine to do this myself. Thank you so much for the time it took to put this together! Happy stitching and I'll see you again soon!🌻

Hi Olivia! Your basket of WIPS are a delight to behold! I also have Birds of a Feather and the Gather by Pineberry Lane calling to me! You have so many gorgeous finishes! I have fallen behind on numerous projects I thought I would stitch along with you, but you have glorious finishes so tell those WIPS to hush..lol..but I soooo get it! I have a tote bag of Christmas, A tote bag of last summers WIPs, a huge bin of project bags I made filled with wips and or kits and other bins by designer..Dont we have a beautiful fantastic problem!! I am trying to knock out some WIPS this month and so want to get to some Christmas..just not enough hours in the day. Thank you for sharing all your beautiful projects in all their splendid stages…I wont even start on my hangers filled with finished quit tops..glorious problems indeed!😊

I can’t imagine someone being rude to you. I’m glad you called them out. Your videos are always inspiring to watch. I heard what I thought was a good idea for older wips: pick 1 day a week or 1 hour a week-which ever you wanted and work on the older wip that is closest to a finish and work in it at that time every week until it’s done. Then move on to the next closest to a finish…. Thought I might try that. I have wips I want to get finished that are not seasonal and they keep getting pushed aside for the seasonal stitching. Have a great week and happy stitching!

I really like your idea of working on seasonal stitches 6 months before the season - example: Patriotic in January. In the past I have been working the month before the season and then never finish them because I want to move on when that season begins.

Love your posts. Not only do you introduce many patterns, fabric, general information, and threads, but you are an inspiration of perseverance. You are honest about projects that went awry, but then you also mention how you fixed the oops! For a novice stitcher, that is very encouraging. Thanks for sharing your beautiful stitching.

This is awesome for me to hear. Im older and I think through my life I don’t let myself get angry at someone…livid angry. I keep it inside. Just these last few days I have been wanting to get angry and say so but was feeling reserved once again. I decided I needed to stick up for myself and speak my mind. I actually asked my husband to go please by me a bottle of beer for a little bravery. I’d love to do a KZread channel but that is my big fear, taking excessive mean criticism to heart. Constructive is different I love sharing ideas and chatting but i hate bullies as well. So bravo!!

Love all your projects Olivia! Thank you so much for your time and effort to share with us! I have had to have some discussions with myself about how many WIPs one person can actually manage. Oh how I can relate! I thought I could get 3 or 4 hours a night stitching. Reality is...maybe 2 hours and I am nodding off (especially if it is just fill work). So I too am working on keeping my number of projects down to a reasonable (doable) number. Why do I always think I can do more than I actually can? Is it contagious? Hugs!

From what I have seen 30s wips is quit a small number as it goes in the cross stitch world. I have 12 WIPs which is overwhelming for me I'm a bit of a lightweight lol and slow stitcher. You have some beautiful WIPs and I'd have found it difficult to choose which to put aside. I am a sampler stitcher like you and my projects take time because there on the larger side. I always get enabled to buy patterns watching your flosstube as I love your choices of patterns and you stitch what I would stitch having the same taste in projects. Thank you for sharing your mocking baskets I really enjoyed seeing your projects. I came away with three patterns to look for to add to my stash from your projects you shared.

Absolutely love this video!! This was so much fun!! I totally agree about bullies. There's a wonderful instagram content creator that I follow that had some wise words on the topic - she said something along the lines of 'My page is not a free speech zone. If you're going to leave nasty comments, it will get deleted and you will be blocked'. That kind of re-framed my view on my own channel and gave the power back into my own hands. I get to decide what stays and what goes, no exceptions! I absolutely love your channel and just know you are so appreciated for everything you do on flosstube! ❤

Ha! There must be something in the air! We are definitely on the same wave length Before I saw your video, I have been going through all my WIPs and pulling out the ones that I have lost interest in for the time being. Those projects are going back into the kitted drawers, yes, drawers, for a future stitch. The ones that I know I will never work on again are getting de-kitted. The ones that remain in my WIP basket have been added to my decision wheel on my phone. Each Monday I will spin the wheel and whatever WIP comes up will be worked on for 5 days. Then I will work on my Blackbird project which is my designated weekend stitch.

Hi Olivia, finally I get to catch up with you here. I am so sorry that you had a mean, old troll visit. What’s wrong with folk? As someone else mentioned they are the sad people who are unhappy with themselves and then be mean to the nice folk. We had a bully at school and she was the meanest. If ever there was a school reunion I would go up to her and say “Oh, I remember you, you were the school bully!” I love seeing all of your beautiful stitching and quilting. I have too many WIPS but now I don’t care ha I enjoy looking at them and one day will stitch them like all my quilts I have on the go. Take care and I love your flowers in the garden. Best wishes Alison 🇬🇧

Well, you have a lot of lovely projects in the works! I always say it might be cheaper for us if we get together and sent some of our favorite designers on a long cruise all expenses paid...only condition is that they can't design anything new while on it. My problem is I spend a week getting something kitted up...and before I can start it something else gets my attention that I think I must do, and kit that one up. I really don't think I have a lot of Wips...maybe around 8...but I do have a lot kitted...which means I have a lot of thread, and some fabric just hidden away in all of these bags. I just amaze myself how I can have all of these project kitted up, but then when I decide to start stitching something I grab something else to kit up and stitch. I think you should finish up the Prairie Schooler Summer Breeze one. I wanted to start that one this year, but I'm already working on 3 Summer stitches and by time I finish them I'm going to want to stitch some Fall and Halloween since I like to stitch in season. Probably the root of the problem is that I buy too many charts...I'm doing a little better than last year, but still if I want to think of the whole thing with logic I probably should not be buying more charts than I usually stitch in a year. Don't worry the trying to think with some logic about the whole thing is only because I'm way older than you are! I will say that I love this hobby though and it has brought me a lot of joy and stress relief over the years...Happy Stitching!

Olivia, I really enjoyed this video. So many of your wips are on my list! I understand the dilemma you face being a seasonal stitcher, as I am also one. I've also decided to start projects on off seasons, if I want a finish for the season it's being stitched for. I think that will put less stress on me to finish, and like you, I lose interest once the season has passed. Time to pull out my autumn wips. 😊😊

I always love a WIP review.......and I may have said this before, but the lace issues on Shores is real. I did one side 3 times and the other I had to pick out parts...... Almost threw it out the window. I kept on redoing the same mistake..... I did the lace first before anything, and that may have been part of it....Will send good mojo for your stitching the lace.

Thanks Olivia. Lots of inspiration. I like your organization. Your opening garden was beautiful-did you have trouble keeping it watered during the awful heat. My hydrangeas did not like it!! Happy stitching.

No matter how many projects we have finished and unfinished, the joy is in the making. I go through my quilt project boxes occasionally and if I decide I'm not thrilled with a project, I pass it on to a friend that likes it. I just ordered the stitching and mending cross stitch you showed. I want to have it as the center of a small wall quilt. Thank you for showing all the lovely work you are doing.
