Another thing to consider is, if you're going to hand wash your project, (of course this excludes hand died fabric) those lines will resolve on their own. Your fabric will shrink a bit and your threads will become fuller and fluffier hiding those lines.

I'm actually going to try this AND try parking as well. This is the best explanation I've seen.

I'm getting caught up on your videos tonight. I'm glad you decided to try stitching up a diagonal column as I've tried before and my stitches don't always look right and now I know why. I'd start them from the top right corner but then I'd go to the bottom right corner to complete the top leg which wouldn't always look right...now I'll keep this video in mind and use both top corners to complete the x's. I've been trying diagonal stitching but I seem to get sidetracked and go off on a cross country detour more often than not. Thanks for the videos and take care with the weather.

Teresa Pires. It is ok to wander from the diagonal. It is hard to not want to do those other stitches. I do stitch them when i see that i will just have one or 2 in the next column. You will find the way that works best for you. And remember there are no stitching police😊

Could you please show what the icons look like for EZpdf and Goodreader that you use? There seems to be multiple to choose from and I want to choose the best one so as not to waste money. Thanks so much for your videos.

Ur video is very informative. I like the way u do pinstitch.. and yes your explanation of having the odd pagebreak lines really makes sense to me. Continue to inspire other stitchers specially beginners like me. God bless

Thanks for the video. I don't know exactly what I do differently now but this time my thread is secure when using 2 over doing the pinstitch.

Awesome. The trick is to make sure you are piercing the floss as you go through the center hole. That helps to secure it. Glad it is working out for you❤️

@@NeedleBugg I know. But piercing one of two thread isn't easy. Using a sharp needle should make it easier.

Hi Karen, thanks for all your lovely videos. Trying to get my head around your explanation to prevent stitching lines and was thinking...isn't everylast stitch done as a full X? So i.e. when you have a block of color, you will make 9 stitches /////////. Then you stitch the 10th stitch as an X, go the other direction to do the top leg over the first 9 stitches like \\\\\\\\\. So...in my opinion, the last ...10th stitch always beïng a ful cross, will not need another approach. If this conclusion is correct, and only the adjacent 2 stitches are the cause of stitching lines, am I right to say for the middle 8 stitches it doesn't matter wether you do full cross or sewing methode? When you reach that row in the next diagonal, then you only would have to do the first stitch as an X. Do the 8 bottom halves of the stiches / direction...the last stitch is an X again and back to the left to make the top halve stitches \\\\. I am going to try this...looking forward to your answer on this

I understand when you finish a column that your pin stitches are on the next couple empty rows. if there’s another page below that section, the stitching will cover up those pin stitches. Do you do anything different if it is the very last row? (Like there are no more pages underneath that stitching). Or do you still leave the pin stitches?

Vicki Kolman if there are no more pages below then i flip my work over and end by working the thread under a few stitches

FosterChicken no you are not imagining it. There is aa little ball on the end. They are easy guide needles. You can get them on etsy or there is a facebook group and the gal sells them. PolkaDot stitchery. She is a tad cheaper. Oh. Also Heaven and earth designs sells them. I love them

@@NeedleBugg I guess I NEED to try them. I just pulled out an old cross stitch that I started years ago but didn't get very far on. I am so glad I decided to look on You Tube to see what's new in the cross stitch world. I will be using YOUR techniques, including using a PDF on a reader and the diagonal stitching. I will be in touch and let you know how it goes. psst, my name is Diana. :)
