Tri-Rail is ultimately the absolute best of the lot here. They have the best scheme in my opinion, and the K5LAs on the Bombardier Cabs and GP49H-3s are just perfect. And that's just a few of the reasons! And for those missing the F40PHs they once had, no worry! Because they're being rebuilt and will be back soon! Whenever I go to Florida to see trains, Tri-Rail always transcends!

Amtrak doesn't have "freight cars". Amtrak has baggage cars and the AutoTrain car carriers that you see at 14:47.

Me too, I live in Pinellas County which is now officially the most densely populated county in the state of the Florida. We eve. Beat Miami, and although we are the fastest growing county, we have one of the worst transportation systems in the country

My grandson Jabriel is seven and autistic and loves to watch the many trains come and go and listen to their sounds. Esp as he falls to sleep,they are very soothing to him. Thank you for having them on u-tube

Great shots of the trains going across the St. Johns! I used to know the guy operating the bridge before sunrail was operating there

Next time I go to Florida, I need to explore a lot more for trains. Being that I love early 21st century streamliners, I really am quite fascinated by the BL36PH, and the MP32PH-Q.... it's interesting. It's basically two really nice looking locomotives put together that just don't match. But it's still quite cool in a sense. For your next adventure to Florida, I hear the Seminole Gulf Railway between Naples and Fort Myers is a train you'll want to see. Plant City, which I visited, is a pretty good spot too, especially a couple of blocks west from the junction where you can get all the tropical vegetation in your shot.

I Love Florida Trains Nice One

I was in Florida once when I went to Disney World with my parents, Mike. Some day if I go back to Florida, I might watch those trains go by and maybe even ride on some of them like the Brightline intercity train, the Sunrail and Trirail commuter trains, and maybe even some of the Amtrak trains, like the auto train. I like the colors on those trains. They look like they are working a lot in the summer.

Fantastic video man!!! I remember when I went down to Florida last year and I saw the Brightline and Tri Rail trains at one of their stations and it was awesome!!! I always wondered if Tri Rail uses a K5LA horn because it sounds really nice..It’s a pretty nice state to see different kinds of trains, very different from California and seeing a couple of Amtrak’s Eastern long-distance trains like the Auto Train and what’s the other one, I forget...but once again great video and awesome shots!!! :) +CoasterFan2105

It's because of all the limestone and phosphate mines in Florida, you should see CSX's operations in the Bone Valley outside of Tampa. They're even more monsterous

Welcome to Florida. I’m a resident of Jacksonville FL. The CSX headquarters. We have Norfolk Southern, and FEC too. So far no commuter service. Tri rail goes between West Palm Beach and Miami. I think Brightline is like that too. Then there’s Sunrail serving the Orlando area. I kinda wished Sunrail would expand to Jacksonville but I think our Commuter rail service is going to be called “First Coast Rail”. As for Amtrak your seeing it here, all we have for Amtrak trains are named Silver Star and Silver Meteor. All service between Miami and New York City. Then there’s Auto Train from Sanford FL to Lorton VA. Silver Meteor is the only Amtrak train in Florida to have a Dining Car. The Dining Car has been eliminated form Silver Star to lower costs on Sleeper Car accommodations. They still have the snack lounge car. No problem for me if I take that train to Washington DC. And to think, when Amtrak Silver service trains arrived in Washington DC locomotive power is switched from P42 Genesis to the electric ACS-64 because Washington DC is the starting point and termination point of the electrified Northeast Corridor. And FRA says no diesel power allowed on NEC.

Some of the coach cars from sun rail and Tryrail are almost similar to the Coaster, Metrolink, ACE, Caltrans, Rail Runner, Minnesota and Utah, Sounder, TRE, and Canada's GO Transit.

I think current top speed is 79. A large portion of the new line they are building to Orlando will be 125 MPH

Too bad you didn’t catch any of the F40PH-2Cs Tri-Rail has. Those things are so cool. If you’re still around there you can catch one of their trains to the MIA International airport station and it takes you right by theirs, Amtrak’s, and CSXs yard in Hialeah. You’ll be able to see everything. Tickets are cheap too. Round trip along the whole 71 mile line is only like 7.50 I believe

Tri-Rail's F40s haven't been in service at all since early 2016. However, they are currently being rebuilt at the Progress Rail works in Georgia, and are expected to return later this year.

Yes, the F40s are indeed being resurrected as we speak! As for the DMUs, they haven't been active on Tri-Rail since about 2012. They saw some use on the SunRail line in 2014, but I don't think they have been in use at all since. They all currently sit in storage in the Hialeah Yard. I would really love for them to bring them back, though.

Those are LNG tenders, all FEC ES44C4s run with Liquid Natural Gas and 80% Diesel mixed in when the throw notches 3 or 4. Its cheaper and safer for the environment, they can still run without the tenders if needed also. But FEC bought 19 of them for their Gevo fleet.
