Leanne is always such a joy to watch. Her lines are perfection and her movements are graceful and elegant.

Leanne underperformed leading into the 2021 Olympic Trials, and had such a hard return to Elite which ended in huge disappointment this last season, I'm happy to see her have a good night in NCAA. I really think her gymnastics will continue to be amazing and a better fit in NCAA.

Leanne didn’t underperform leading into trials in 2021😂 she had many wins and was at her supposed “peak” before trials. She got knocked out of the running after falling on beam once but had a strong running on night two. The field was much deeper then.

@@eliseperron1928 Leanne did have a lot of inconsistencies leading up to Trials in 2021. Her peak AA score from night 2 of trials was a huge 56.733 which was the highest domestic score of the year outside of Biles, Lee, and Chiles (aka above McCallum, Skinner, DiCello, and everyone else). But she never got close to that score before that night since that was the first time all year that she hit both bars and beam on the same night. And her bars and beam routines were also not nearly as strong as 2019, although her floor was better.

I think she's going to try for 2024 since she was one beam routine from making the team in 2021. I don't think her gymnastics is a better fit for NCAA since she can do extreme difficulty on floor which has developed into her strongest event, but I do think Florida is a better fit for her than GAGE and specifically Al Fong. She's never looked as confident with him as she does at Florida and at the best meet for her in elite (Worlds 2021) she was with Armine not Al. I hope she pursues the Olympics with Florida coaches like Thomas was doing in 2019 before her injury. The initial return to elite was quite strong this year when she won Classic with a fall and a major error on floor. Only because she got injured (under Al's watch again) was the rest of the season more disappointing (and even then she won bars at nationals and made the Worlds team). If she had been healthy she certainly could have made AA and floor finals like in 2021.

Leanne has the best of both worlds here with the GAGE technique and leaps but the not-GAGE routine construction

Hopefully we won’t see another gage construction lol I feel like herself and Florida coaches can give her better should she return to elite.

I was thinking the same thing, and looked up some older pictures of her and also Morgan Hurd as I happened to notice Morgan's hair as well. Both of them look like they have lost hair. Leane looks like she might have lost hair on the edges due to pulling it back way too tight. Hopefully if that happened it will grow back. Morgan looks like she has diffuse thinning, which is concerning as it could be caused by either extreme stress or a nutritional deficiency. I'm absolutely not criticizing either of these young ladies, just observing and hoping for the best for both of them. I've been concerned about Morgan for a long time honestly, really hope she finishes her gymnastics without permanent damage that would affect her day to day life forever.

Just because she did really well, suddenly she needs a drug test? Leanne has always been a beautiful gymnast on beam and other events. I see no reason for a drug test, unless you’re going to put every other NCAA gymnast under that radar, too 🙄

@@jessicamagri8211 Donovan Mitchell scored 71 points in a game a couple weeks ago and the NBA drug tested him the next day. It's very common for athletes to get drug tested after breaking records or achieving the unachievable. Don't be so sensitive.

@boxscorewatcher413 Except this isn't unexpected or unachievable. You just want to tear others' accomplishments down under the guise of helping everyone else, most likely to make you feel better about your own miserable life. Thats not even mentioning since this is a college meet, they have random drug tests regularly, making your suggestion pointless. Here is a difference between a good person and a bad person. What I saw; 2 hit routines, she's putting in the work. What you saw; 2 hit routines, must be drugs.
