@Michael Knight It must be really hard to change your opinion. Because I think know where you are coming from, you probably get all your sources from the media, and probably aren't close to many police officers. Even the kindness from the police officers in the video did not budge you at all. So I just want to know this information. A good story has conflict; the media reports on this conflict. There was no conflict in this encounter: You won't see "man follows orders and is arrested" as a headline, ya get me? If you strongly believe the police are bad, the media will only make that opinion of yours more valid in your head. All I want you to see is how different sources of information can have different stories. More personal stories from the police departments will probably won't change as many details from other sources. So, if you're going to criticize anything, I would prefer for people to look at both sides, no matter how bad it seems. Because seeing the other side of a story, and STILL disagreeing with it, shows how more right you are, instead of seeing one side of a story and disregarding anything else the police have to say.

@@airgearmaster123 Exactly. Being honest and respectfully cooperating will do you some real good when dealing with police as the honesty makes the job of the officers easier, and the show of respect and cooperation likewise makes the officers jobs easier and also helps them relax and not feel the need to potentially fear for their lives. As long as you do your part to help make the officer's jobs easier, then they will most likely return the favor by offering you as much leniency as they can, and in some cases that sort of attitude might even let you get off with nothing more than a warning. Officers appreciate it when they don't have to worry about their own safety or the safety of others.

Accepting reality and being respectful led to this man being treated with respect. I'm not arguing you should just admit to crimes, let the police do whatever they want, or otherwise incriminate yourself. I'm arguing that accepting reality and being an adult is always the best option. If the reality is you're caught, then accept it, be respectful and mature and things go far better than fighting or running. Too often, people refuse to accept the reality of their encounters and they end up in a far worse situation than they needed to be in.

Keep licking them boots and being in denial though, kiddo. Also good to remember that those "cool cops" you see, will defend the POS ones all they can until video evidence shows up against them. Lose his job in construction for a driving infraction? Maybe if he had been driving a company vehicle. If he is a good worker and comes to work everyday, he's not losing his job. Years ago I had a major breakdown with my car that wasn't something I could fix in a day. My boss at the time drove to my house 35 minutes away from his(in the opposite direction of the job site), gave me a ride to work and then took me back home everyday that week. Wouldn't even take gas money from me. The construction industry isn't just a job, it's a brotherhood.

@@popupheadlights You're exactly right. And I would believe the recognition would be more justified if the toxicity is recognize as well by the people that abuse their position day in and out. Police forces won't change their image simply by showcasing a simple act of kindness that even just a civilian SHOULD carry out without recognition. Let alone a police officer that is SUPPOSED to serve and protect civilians. Serving that man by making sure he has what he needs after he gets released is just that, serving him. Protecting him and his future by making sure he doesn't lose his job. The fact that this simple action was showcased tells me that their standard of a job well done is exponentially lower than it should be. The video of the officer delivering groceries to a person who tried to steal them because they couldn't pay is the type of behavior that deserves to be showcased in the way this video is, as an act of selflessness. This video should just be titled, "Standard practice of officer serving civilian."

This cop is absolutely doing his job as a civil servant. The guy being arrested was for sure a good dude positive attitude. Yeah he does drugs but everyone has a crutch, he didn't take his problems or mistakes iut in the officers and manned up. Wish these kind of views would catch the news.

My favourite part was when the officer that was recording went out of his way to make sure he had everything, even when the other young gun cop was all like “sir we cannot take this backpack into the police station bla bla bla” making it sound like the guy wanted to take the whole damn dump truck with him. Meanwhile the 1st person cop was like nah his family lives close just wait a minute lol. Loved this officer. I’m glad to see a more light hearted video instead of the usual recommended police videos. When you finish sentencing your fees for jail / prison are added in ahead of time. The money is brought in so there is a signed record by the perp of how much cash. Keeps people from claiming cops stole money. Also every jail and prison gets a dollar amount per day you are in. That is why you are released typically after 2am. So they get that extra booking fee from State. Why else release a criminal at 2am lol

You shouldn’t expect to be killed by trained police officers because of the way you act. Last I checked, “poor attitude” isn’t a fucking death sentence.

I can’t be a cop. I probably would let him go to work and go find some real bad guys instead.

Bodycams on officers that are designed to protect both the officer and the civilian also take the options out of the officers hands. There are protocols that have to be followed, because if that guy happened to get into an accident (which happens all the time) and unfortunately killed someone, those cops would be part liable for letting him go without a license.

Maaan I actually wish this was a longer video. Such a feel good moment seeing cops and the arrestees actually getting along and being decent. Well good on this cop for being decent, as well as the assailant
