Tbf it's the cuban variation usually referred to as "cafecito." She's just doing her best explaining it to an American audience, and a lot of non-hispanic Floridians who come into her store probably call it expresso. Like a similar example is, I've eaten egg rolls all my life, but recently learned that there's a difference between "egg rolls" and "spring rolls." I know what they're called in my heritage's language, just used the wrong terminology in terms of what's accepted as "proper" in American English. American English is full of butchered words from other languages, so it's kind of is nitpicky in this regard about using the Italian pronunciation/spelling.
