    This is just the beginning with the way the economy is being run down. You should see the scale of the homeless camps in the PNW (Pacific North West). There are tent cities all along the freeways. Pretty sad.

    America had lost it's industrial manufacturing infrastructure. The first dominoes to fall happened back in the 1970s beginning with the garment manufacturing industry. Taxes started it and it began in Massachusetts. In the 1980s the auto manufacturing industry began to cease and it happened because of union workers greed. Those two industries alone were massive and employed many. Decades ago these homeless folk would have had a decent job and a place to live if our government leadership was smart.

    In 2001 I went on a trip to DC for a military/friendship reunion. During the trip at Union Station I met some homeless people and struck up a conversation with them. I asked them how they survive the cold and the answer they gave me was they travel to Florida. If my memory is correct one of them said Cape Coral. There in DC they said they didn't have to beg. Tourists would hand them a dollar and they would say thank you and eventually they would have enough money to eat. Homeless shelters they did not like. For bathing they would find water no problem and for clothing "I found a good donation box" one guy said. He didn't want to tell anybody there the donation box location. It was a secret. They were good people. Like myself some of them had PTSD.

    To know how to make a shank like that, the person who lives there has done time. Don't ever touch the blade. Not just because it can cut you, but also because to make it sharp if it's dull, the person may have urinated on it. Urine eats metal, and can be used to help sharpen a shank. I was a CO for over 10 years, and have seen all kinds of different shanks. An inmate would urinate on the metal, then use the desk of the cell to sharpen it. Always be careful in a situation like this.

    That "veteran" got kicked out on what sounds like a general discharge or administrative separation, which is basically like you were never there, so no, you don't get benefits, but you also don't get punished for whatever got you kicked out. You can go to the Chaplin and claim conscientious objector and it might happen. Sounds more like dude did some stuff and got the boot. I know rock star Marines that didn't get an honorable discharge and deserve one. That's the real injustice.

    Where can they take the trash? Landfill in Fl is very expensive. In Sarasota I took my truck and paid the fees, the homeless in that camp did all the work loading and unloading. It was a small camp so maybe they felt more secure about their possessions. Anyway, garbage brings rats. Probably the main reason those folks did the work to clean up. I don't live there so I couldn't keep up. It's probably a mess again. Homeless don't have the garbage truck come by once a week. I saw the rats between the tents and rain fly then I offered them the truck.

    It is probably smart to lay down carpet over the weeds so you have a drier place to walk, and it will smother the weeds underneath. It is like a whole other society and world back there. They all scatter during the day, I guess. I think they collect garbage because they feel like garbage and can't tell the difference. Maybe it is like cutting where they know they are upset but don't know how to express it. Strewing around garbage makes them feel like there is an outward sign of how they feel they are treated.

I couldn’t afford to pay it because it was 1983, and 10 cents was actually worth something before Modern Monetary Theory wrecked everything. So, that afternoon I snapped the biggest crack rock I could find. I just couldn’t deal with personal bankruptcy in the 9th grade. Skip forward 41 years, and I’m laying carpet in my very own crack forest. Never give up on your dreams, kids!

    It doesn't actually work like that. Doctors proved those cops were actually having panic attacks and not ODs. They rubbed fentanyl powder all over their bare hands, and nothing happened. You would have to lick your hand or throw a bunch up in the air and breathe in real deep.

  • @OutlandishMojo

    @OutlandishMojo

    Always good to carry Narcan, and homie should wear gloves touchin nasty stuff, but the fears over accidental fent ODs just from touch are overblown. While this narrative has been popular in the news, time and time again it's found that these "exposures" are either just panic attacks or from deliberate ingestion. Just hop on google and type "can you overdose from touching Fentanyl" and peep the results. American college of medical toxicology, UC Davis, Washington State Dept of Health and more have looked into this urban legend, dispelled it, and labeled it harmful. Imagine someone ODs and nobody will help them because they are afraid of a fent particle making them OD too.

Number 2, I saw plenty of evidence of homeless people but saw only 2 in the video? My experience is that the cops crack down on these places and clean them up on a regular basis. One place near me in the mangroves on Hancock Bridge Pkwy has been cleaned up at least 3 times in the last 6 months but they keep coming back. Pissing on my hometown is not appreciated. Same for Ft Myers which has a vibrant a downtown as exists anywhere in America. Why the hard on for developers, politicians and cops? You made a ton of serious baseless allegations while offering no evidence.

    The ones in camps are usually druggies. People just down on their luck usually maintain at least a vehicle, and often aren't noticably homeless. They also take advantage of resources because they aren't strung out.
