Just curious, your garden for runoff from the driveway would that not be harmful to your plants? I'm in Quebec and that would be the last thing I would want with the road salt and slush in the winter and possibly oil and other dirt that comes off cars depending where the car has been. We try to shovel away from the garden and in the summer hose away from the garden also.

Hi there, you make a good point, ideally, yes, we don't want any oily/salty runoff. But I look at bioswales as mother nature's hepa filter, in that by having a bioswale or raingarden installed, you can help filter out some of the runoff pollutants by the bio swale vegetation uptake, and some are broken down by natural decomposing vegetation while other pollutants migrate and attach to soil structure (sedimentation) which also helps breaks down some runoff minerals. Hope this helps. 😀🪴

Does mulching in south Florida cause mosquitos issues?

Hi, mulching will not cause a mosquito issue, but standing water is what you need to avoid ( like big water saucers holding water) since mosquito lay eggs in water. 😀🪴
